Re: Update wesnoth to newest 1.12 version

In OS X you can install the newer version (from the same branch) just normally and will find saves etc. stay in place. You can't avoid the full download, however.

(You can even move saves manually between branches from 1.12 to 1.13 say. It breaks compatibility for some, but by no means all of them.)

(1) What difficulty level and version of Wesnoth have you played the scenario on?
Normal

(2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10)
11. I find it virtually impossible.
Fwiw, Faello has posted a great replay in this thread. (On high difficulty.)

Re: A New Order

Making them a mp faction would be easier than finding players to play against. (Not balanced.)

The dangers of self-education while disregarding the basics... or just anti-math trolling. I reported this thread, pointless as is.

Re: Coding, Terrain Advantage, Damage

How do we avoid that logic?
By reading and understanding what an independent event is before touching a computer / calculator. Where I live this is taught in 8th grade.

Re: Oath of Allegiance [SP Desert People Campaign for 1.13.5

Regarding the few turkish sentences at the beginning: I know that this isn't an ideal solution but it's the best I had been able to come up with yet. Imo, it is perfectly fine for them to speak Turkish. You wrote some dialogue for them after all, having it completely unreadable would be a waste. I ...

Re: Can we get matchmaking?

1. For an matchmaking to function it needs an sizeable pool of players to draw from, wesnoth doesnt have that many players, therefore it wont make an difference as matchmaking systems gradually narrow down the bracket during search until next-best suitable opponent has been found. 2. not exactly, a...

Re: Wesnoth Terraforming

I just looked into default settings and a smallish map on my own, imagining playing it. (No, I don't want a map covered in castles. I just was wondering that with equal terraforming points nothing really prevents the unoccupied tiles in a contested area being changed back and forth.) Maybe it plays ...

Re: The War of the Dragon

Taking to Sea: I played out 30 turns in good shape. Strategy was: let the ally keep a significant amount of villages, he gets more income from them than I would, and let him keep recruiting, but this was pretty hard to implement, because allies are fickle. In several attempts he would either suicide...

Re: Oath of Allegiance [SP Desert People Campaign for 1.13.5

I happen to know Turkish. Having machine-translated Turkish as the mysterious, ununderstandable language the Khalifate soldiers speak early on is somewhat distracting for me. I can't be the only player who speaks Turkish, right? (Basically, I can read what they say, but it sounds really wrong.) Do y...

Re: Winning The Siege of Elensefar on hard

Thanks. I went back to the Isle of Alduin, got a really big gold bonus. Then I started The Bay of Pearls with 310 gold, finished in turn 19/21 with gold carryover of 67. A bad result even for the hard difficulty level, isn't it? Attaching my replay. You don't have to finish each scenario very early...

Re: Wesnoth Terraforming

Looks promising. Needs experimenting and refinement, I guess. I believe it would be a good idea if terraforming would work with gold, even if you keep the hard limit on village and castle tiles and the limitation by leader + a few tiles around. As is I can not imagine a reason why an elvish area won...

I believe you mean the Labyrinth. I played it in a way that I don't go into negative gold. The end door is the orcish keep on 6,1 as far as I remember.

I took the challenge... played with your save (generated a turn 1 save from the replay, but I can't make my own replay, it always shows up as your replay - can someone explain this?), I failed to be sure, but I held up well enough to demonstrate how it can be done with a little more gold - if only t...
