Those mud creatures - they're so difficult to beat without large numbers or enough healing units.

It looks like patchwork, or like homemade paper... not at all grassy. The colour is also too much like olive.

Also, I don't really view the encampment as a guide since it looks too top-down to me. That's really the question, imo, what to use as a guide? The 2.5-3.5 ballpark ratio comes from using the village as a little too shallow, the encampment as a little too high, the char's position, and a blind gues...

You're making the trigonometry needlessly complicated. I've attached an amended copy of your diagram, labelling the length of the two axes you've drawn in. In the case of the encampment, the ratio of horizontal to vertical is (47 / 37) = 1.27 In the case of your village, the ratio of horizontal to v...

Fog problem / feature

If you look at this screenshot, the castle appears out of the fog. Now that's either an error, or a deliberate feature. If it's the former, it needs fixing. If it's deliberate, then it'd be really good if the mountain peaks could show through as well... IMO that would look really nice :)

Hmm, I'd say it's far more than that, but I'm open to someone working it out mathematically rather than guessing ;)

I have to agree with charlieg. Just look at the screenshot of your villages next to the encampment.

Most Wesnoth terrain appears as though you're looking at it from about 45 degrees off the ground, whilst your villages look as though you're looking at them from about 15 degrees.

They're all very handy to take out ranged units, especially those that will poison you. I just keep them behind my other units, and "launch" them out when there's a unit I want taking out in one turn.

Although on a related note, I don't seem to be able to capture villages, which is a bit of a pain! I can move onto their hexes, but I don't take ownership.
