I tried, and miserably failed, to create a mountain tile that was a plateau, upon which you could place a small mountain hut of the kind that you'd find in the Alps, for example.

Yes. Sorry, i realize i said defeat nagas with orcs, but i meant with mermen. You can, indeed, recall on this scenario, as you can in ALL scenarios in this campaign. So i was assuming you would be able to recall at least one ranger, plus 2-3 nearly advanced bandits. YOu... um... DID go to the islan...

You defeat the nagas with orcs, and send rangers/soon to be rangers south to hold off the orcs. Then, you bring thugs/thieves/the free rogue you got south to defeat the enemy during night, with backup from the rangers. Are we talking about the same scenario? I can only recruit Mermen and received a...

Two things:

First, what does it mean when it says you can only recall "veteran units"? I haven't been able to recall any units, including those who I got to level up.

Second, how on earth do you win Theft? I am stuck trying to defeat orcs on land with Mermen!

After a CVS update it has gone, so it appears to simply be a fixed bug in the game code, not your campaign. The warning still appears, but it's harmless (so far ;)).

Well the first scenario was fine for me (even if it was a little bit evil :)) but the second one (The High Seas) doesn't work. Whenever I land on a village, the next scenario begins to load and then Wesnoth segfaults with an error message about not finding a particular player, like so: For the close...

I doubt anyone will miss me much though, the admins don't seem terribly thrilled about these portraits. Is the coloring on the youth good? maybe a little brighter? I'll try to tweak the other line arts to give back the "character" of the characters before I have to give up my life to school :P. I'l...

[quote="Elvish Pillager" Zone of Control Formations Spacing units two-three hexes apart forms a wall of your Zone of Control that non-skirmishing enemies cannot pass. Behind that wall, you can put your fragile units. At two hexes apart, a straight row of units is as safe as a row of units adjacent t...

Moreover, it would be interesting to see guides on how to escape pinning, how to deal with ambushes, etc.

I still feel there are features worth implementing before 1.0 For example, the first request in this bug report could still be done (come on devs, you know you want to do it ;)). And though Dave suggested a featuer freeze soon, we see the occasional worthwhile little feature being implemented, like ...

Re: Elvish Pillager's Strategy Guide!

What do you think of the formatting, descriptions, etc? Do I need more detail? 1 - I don't really understand the need for the "generality" and "scale" taxonomy, unless you have a lot of tips and you have a web form to filter them. 2 - Screenshots would be useful, not only to clarify some of the mor...

I'm starting to think the best thing for villages is to basicly match the perspective of the castles. That way we only have 2 kinds of perspective going on, 1 for castles, buildings, and terrain (more from the top) and 1 for units and special items. (more from the side). This would be a better situ...
