Re: Return to Noelren 0.7.6
Thanks for your feedback and appreciation ! ... It plays more like a fairy tale than a battle game - but that's good. Yes, it was the goal... * During one play through I managed to trap Tiomin on Lestiviel's island (he self-moved there) and I had to reload due to impassable terrain. Yes, I had this ...

Re: Loading a unit onto a boat
... If anyone know of any examples of this being done elsewhere, I'll be really interested. Or if anyone knows that the "variables" storage space is unsuitable for storing other units, please let me know... You could take a look at my campaign Return To Noelren (1.10), scenario "Buil...

Re: Science as ¨magic¨.
Hi ! To add my two cents on a very complex topic, I would say that magics is stricto sensu another way to think and interact with reality: through language and words. To make short a long explanation, the magician don't craft things directly. (S)he summons, orders, or prays some spirits to do the jo...

Re: General discussion about Era and Modification compatibil
This may be a personal preference thing, but I'd rather have a choice like "More Menu items" rather than trying to manipulate a slider after a right-click. Such a choice could be added automatically when the screen is out of space to show the menu items. I'm probably not going to code it ...

Re: Wesnoth 1.10.7
I'm merely stating the obvious. It's intended to be helpful. The problem is you behave like those level 1 hotliners who systematically consider customers are all some kind of nannies knowing not how to plug their computer into the wall socket. As them, you deliver your little manual, even if it has...

Re: Wesnoth 1.10.7
To be fair, version control isn't a magic bullet when you got a situation like described, where a bug only manifests occasionally. You can't be expected to bisect an issue with 5 playthroughs per every change you've made anyway, so version control pretty much only helps in making educated guesses a...

Re: Return to Noelren 0.7.6
Wow ! Thanks ! This is a whole bunch of ideas ! Something else I remembered: In Treachery II there is a bug in that if a not-auto save is done, after reloading the petrified units wake up. Yes, I know. It's a problem with the game: petrification (and other state things like hiding) are not restored ...

Treachery II: Yes, it works when she dies but does not die. After completing the game, thank you for the various nice ideas in it, such as the darkness induced by some units near the end, multiple hits in one move, depression of opponents, ... Thanks for your appreciation ! I wonder whether you wil...

Re: Return to Noelren 0.7.6
OK, I'll take a look at it. Thanks... Edit. Well, the problem is you used Patti's magic wand to turn the lich boss into a rat in Treachery I. There's nothing wrong doing that, but I didn't figure this case in the scenarios design, and it can ruin them (Pauline had a hard time with this too). I'm wor...

Re: Luck in multiplayer
Yes, of course... I'm an ignorant idiot, and this is why all this tedious teaching is needed. You are asking technical questions that only properly have technical answers. If you don't want to hear them from me, fine, I won't waste my time. I wasn't asking anything, at least not this kind of common...

Re: Return to Noelren 0.7.6
Certainly (but I can't remember which), but I doubt it's the reason. What is the size of your file ?yukipol wrote:Treachery II:
I have been trying and failing to upload the last sequence I tried.
Is there a bound on the size of the upload?

Re: Luck in multiplayer
Curiously, tossing a coin is exactly the abstract model this test suite uses. And of course yes, applying the test suite to a large set of coin tosses can tell you if this coin is fair or not. I think you misunderstand the purpose of the tests. Yes, of course... I'm an ignorant idiot, and this is w...

Re: Return to Noelren 0.7.6
There are various little inconsistencies, like very powerful abilities of Tiomen and some others never mentioned in any info, or different menus produced by Ctrl + R and right-click mouse, or petrified units coming alive when saved file is reloaded (Treachery-II), but now I have encountered a more ...

Re: Luck in multiplayer
... The tests of NIST are irrelevant to a question like "is this coin fair". And obviously "is this coin fair" / "is a particular bit random" is a meaningful question. Curiously, tossing a coin is exactly the abstract model this test suite uses. And of course yes, appl...

Re: Return to Noelren 0.7.6
In First Battle: The Hint is to build a bridge, but it appears much simpler to have Tolivia recall a part of Garards army on the other side of the river. She can get to a conveniently unoccupied Keep there and the recall works for her. Turgan's forces are too small to offer a noticeable resistance....
