Re: [URGENT] Someone is selling your GAME on eBay

It's distasteful, but the GPL lets you do that.

Ulfs and Archers. Heavy losses for both sides.

Re: Beta 1.9.10 Install extension in userdata problem

It strikes me as odd that the Umlaut is the problem if other add-ons work, but you could try launching wesnoth with the switch -config-dir /path/to/userdatadir/ to set an alternative user data folder if that is the cause.

Likely somebody else will have a better idea though.

Re: Undead in the Sewers!, Now Featuring Character Classes!

On the latest version of the add-on and of Wesnoth (svn, not 1.9.10), you can't start the game. After creating the character, the first scenario begins. The peasant speaks his first line of dialogue, then Wesnoth segfaults 20111112 16:02:36 warning engine: variable_info: retrieving member of non-exi...

Re: Rogue Mage/Shadow Mage/Shadow Lord

That might work, but the way I view Shadow Mages, they would be fighting against Mal Ravanal, rather than alongside him. Or more likely, they'd be keeping their heads low and just go about their own business :D I think you misunderstand my suggestion. I'm talking about a Continuity Reboot . You can...

Re: Rogue Mage/Shadow Mage/Shadow Lord

The aftermath is a bit tricky - I can't think of a good time for Shadow Mages to become prominent in Wesnoth's timeline that doesn't create holes elsewhere. It sounds to me like it could fit quite well as part of Mal Ravanal's reign. Shadow Mages being assimilated with the undead in the stories pas...

Yeah that's what I mean, though I thought the ? could have been a placeholder that got forgotten rather than a deliberate choice.

TSG - The Lich With No Name.

Wasn't sure if this should go in mainline campaign feedback, or if it counted as a bug for here...

The lich in A Choice In The Fog has no name, merely a question mark.

Is this deliberate? It's sort of fitting in that you don't know who it is in the storyline, but it looks odd in the UI.

Woah, ease up here. I do not believe this was intended to be racist, but I can see where Shinobody is coming from. This isn't just internet communication - this is internet communication with language and cultural barriers. For what it's worth, I didn't read this as racism, but it is dangerously clo...

Re: MuseScore for UMC music composing

I'd just like to see some acceptable quality UMC tracks. Not to raise the standards, just to bring some variety. QFT. Until now, I've relied on recording something with audacity, messing about with it a bit, and making do with the resulting lump of crap. Worse, I only have cheap pickups, and only p...

Re: Outsider Art for Bad Moon Rising

It's a kthon-ised ram.

I think the problem is the neck, not the legs. With the neck horizontal, it extends the body and makes the legs appear too far back. If it's neck was more upright, the position would look more natural.

Here's a good one: "I'd rather be a sparrow than a snail. Yes I would. If I could, I surely would. I'd rather be a hammer than a nail. Yes I would. If I only could, I surely would." Re: Outsider Art for Bad Moon Rising

Something about the front legs bothers me. Not sure exactly what. At first, it looked as though the right leg is aligned asymmetrically with the left leg, but comparing it with real rams, it seems about right. Then I thought maybe the knee was a bit too low, but again, it looks right compared to rea...

yeah, I use linux. Yiff? yiff-server is the package name under Debian/Ubuntu. A sound server for UNIX games and applications I find to be more stable, and less buggy than the alternatives. Importantly in the context of this thread, with PulseAudio installed MuseScore didn't work, but with Yiff, it ...
