Re: Dixie's Internet Meme Era Art Thread (Currently: Ninjas)

Regarding your color choices; (Can an English buff help me here? Is that the correct use of a semicolon?) it seems you are using only the value and/or saturation slider bar to create different shades. This is not very realistic, as a light source will not be perfectly white. I'm not that good at exp...

Re: help, rookie pixen problem!

Seashore's nice although it does not have all the capabilities of GIMP. Since you're still starting out it is a fine choice, after all its what I started with. :) Make sure you save the file as a PNG, otherwise you might encounter quality loss as you said. I can't wait to see some of your recent spr...

Typo on Homepage, under News

Wesnoth 1.9.0 has been released. This is the first release of the brand new 1.9.x development series. It include huge, groundbreaking changes. Please have a look this forum thread to get a rough idea about those big changes (and some known problems). To show how the graphics changed, Eleazar create...

Re: OpenGameArt.org Sprite Builder -- Help us help Wesnoth!

I agree, and I doubt your run-of-the-mill dwarf would have such pronounced muscles. That issue is mainly on his back, which bring me to another confusing point, his arm. I think his left forearm should be shortened.

Re: EVILEST's 'Chaos' stuff

Also if you look at the sprites, there isn't a significant change to gregalia. My opinion is that the invader looks too much like a level two.

Re: Polish ImageLocalization

It was fine to begin with, after all she/he was probably using the standard letters. If you brighten it it will lose consistency with the other logos, which I'm sure the devs don't want.

Re: From out of the Fog came...

Here's an update. I added some highlights and his lower extremities. The shading and palette for his pants may change, I'm not completely satisfied and it is to reminescent of his skin. There shall also be some armor extending from his belt, similar to that of the spearman. Hopefully I'm closer to m...

Re: In Which Fog Begins to Sprite!

Not knowing whether I should start a new topic intirely or continue this one, I'll simply update the subject. Hello once again. School's begun, thus I may only have time to work on the weekends. As a middle school student taking several high school classes, I'm bound to be challenged. Nevertheless I...

I agree, and its not very king-like. I would expect him to have good posture alias to his arrogance as a king. Move his head to the left a few pixels, and your problem should be resolved.

Re: portraits

:lol2: Are there any TV Tropes on blood and how when people are covered in it they are more powerful? I'd say nix the blood, its distracting from your shading. Also his legs are proportionally short. Maybe a reference or anatomy book could help? You should also emphasize your shading. But asides fro...

Re: Stern's Art: Goblin Trumpeter

I think you can have as many frames as you want... But if not you shouldn't create such a complex animation. I agree that bending his spear is odd, can he just hold his spear in one hand and the horn in the other?

Re: Zero's art. UtBS also included Elementals too, fyi.

NUmber one, thats a very akward pose... I tried it myself, have you? Two, I understand you want to convey a shadowed area on his back etc., but the purple you are using is way to saturated.

Um... He means color swatches like the TC one. So essentially it is a palette.

Re: My Samurai

I disagree about the pillow shading, but you need more more more contrast. Your sprite is quite large, and does not fit standard proportions. It has more realistic proportions, rather than a large head with a medium torso with long legs (CMIIW).
