Re: From decent to awesome: using expendable units?

This is something I still struggle with, despite only restarting scenarios these days rather than save loading constantly like I used to. Although in shorter campaigns I don't usually mind if a few units die (say, An Orcish Incursion, I often lose a few units on that and just carry on).

Re: Managing gold in campaigns

My normal strategy on "non difficult" scenarios (such as Crossroads, yes I do consider that slightly more challenging than some, but still on the easier side), is to only recruit/recall enough such that I'm breaking even in money at worst, even with very few villages captured, so that as I progress ...

Re: Favorite multiplayer unit per type(melee, magical, cav,

Melee: Elvish Fighter or Dwarf Fighter. Ranged: Elvish Archer for damage output or Orcish Archer for damage types. Scouts: Elvish Scouts. VERY fast. Become useful for combat at level 2. Cavalry: Horseman (different damage types when levelled or more damage output) or Wolf Rider (max level have eithe...

Re: How to play Knalgan?

It's highly situation dependent, but against undead, mass thunderers will, against a good player, result in a very quick loss. 2 thunderers at absolute maximum, footpads are good for defense (impact vulnerability of skellies). Of course, if someone decides to spam ghosts against knalgans, then by al...

Re: Birth of a Lich: SP Campaign Feedback and Reviews

Started playing the campaign on easy, could've probably got through the first scenario without recruiting, and the second scenario doesn't look too hard either, if I let my allies take the lead. At least in the 2nd scenario there is actually a point to recruiting but on easy again you don't really N...

Re: Is a red mage worth it early in HttT?

I'd say at least one would be useful in Siege of Elensefar, for taking out the undead more reliably. An interesting choice to level up Elrian to White Mage, yes loyal healers are extremely useful, but I've seen on here before on at least one occasion loyal red mage can be levelled up to level 4 grea...

Re: After the Storm 0.8.0 [Wesnoth 1.9.10+]

Struggling a bit on AtS 1: Tears. Given the starting villages and my recall list I am generally recalling/recruiting about 12 units so as to break even in terms of gold while still having about 200 gold available. My recall list includes many level 3s (who I am not recalling yet, prefer to save them...

Re: Aelaris's Comprehensive Guide to the Horseman (MP only)

Bats - They die in a single hit during twilight or day, so the drain doesn't really matter. Thanks to the Feral trait, they only have 40% defense on villages
I'd just like to point out that Feral is actually 50% defense. It was originally 40% but then got upped to 50% pre 1.10 I think.

Re: County of Beichlingen update: Version 0.6.1

Am liking the campaign. I did a few restarts to find the right first scenario for me, and this is the result after 1 battle, where I had 82 kills and 0 losses:
Wesnoth.jpg
My strategy was to sit at the cave choke points until they started producing level 2 units around turn 50ish.

Re: Cities of the Frontier (aka sim-Wesnoth)

I've had some ideas too. Diplomacy: You can make a "peace treaty" with some bandits and give them some land for them to build say a couple of villages near the edge of the map. In exchange you would help each other defend. Also, huge maps, say, up to the max size possible for Wesnoth, with a lot lar...

On the 2nd scenario after the goblins turns I'm getting a lot of delay switching back to my turn. Possible bug?

I have no idea, but it's probably a good idea to do that so that any more bugs like that will become apparent.

Re: The Four Champions

First bug for me has occured when moving Brian to the tree he wants to make a new staff from a simple WML change is needed from [removeitem] to [remove_item] apparently. Im playing on easy difficulty btw, good first level so far, seems decent in terms of balancing although others may say otherwise.

When you say it's done, I assume you mean for 1.10?
