But couldn't that newer library file system simply be replaced with the older version?(not built into the game though) Like to make it downloadable with instructions for installing said older library file system into the game?

Well would some work please be put to making wesnoth compatible with win9x again? If it were alot of work, then I would understand why you wouldn't. But the only issue is the font issue. Where dialogue for campaigns is unreadable and the menu boxes required to even reach the server are unreadable. B...

Will win9X compatibility be fixed in version 1.8

The 1.4 server says that it will be shut down when 1.8 comes out. Does that mean the compatibility issues with win9X will be fixed by then so that I can use it too? Or, why is the 1.4 server being shutdown when 1.8 comes out?

Well on a more basic level, presumable the game was balanced with regular WC's in mind. So for the purpose of keeping that balance, If there is any question regarding the changes to the stats of a special WC, it would make sense to error on the side of default, not further away from it. @solsword Yo...

As to your 'solution', stop any WCs from being over chasm? That's just an unnatural restriction on many units that makes no real sense to resolve a problem with a handful of units.. I can't get past the map where you surround the enemy on four sides, not sure if that is the last map. Its just too much for my poor CPU etc. to handle, slows to a crawl early on.

What is this mod listed as in the addon server? Sorting them by name, I don't see a ageless era.
