maybe check if the number of starting positions on the map agree with those declared in the cfg
there's probably no need for that #undef at the end, though that shouldnt be causing such a problem, maybe you could include the map file as well?

as to #1 i'd say it is already kind of random, except for the host who always gets side 1 when joining a game you can never be certain which side you'll end up on, even if you see theres just the host on and you'll get side 2 then it may turn out that the host switched his side or that someone else ...

oh, thanks Turuk, that should come useful and yes i did mean multiplayer scenarios as map+accompanying WML, didn't look into the game code for specifics but i do presume the map files are loaded into cache as well since mini images of them are displayed in the mp lobbies and im quite certain everyon...

As for a simple 2D script&picture based game Wesnoth takes quite a large bit of calculating time, and i ain't playing on a 486. hmm too bad, guess ill have to do with landing on the dangerous terrain only
Anyway the $ worked perfectly, its a bit of a mystery to me why a message cant be executed after, only before the teleport, but that made no difference fortunately :)

maybe im searching the wrong way, but san't find a solution - i want to move a unit of certain sides back behind a certain border if it crosses it too early. Thought id just do a moveto triggered event and teleport it, and everything okay except..the unit is still where it went, no teleporting took ...
