Re: StarCraft II

I like how each mission is tailored to the introduced unit and they perform well in this situation, but you can see clearly why he older units were phased out for the new. Like Firebats are cool but the don't have the range and speed of a Hellion or how Goliaths are good but don't have the mobility...

Re: StarCraft II

The games great, everything I expected and more. My only complaint is that my laptop barely runs it. :/ Yeah, the campaign requires so many resources. I have an Nvidia 9400M that runs multiplayer fairly well on Normal graphics, but still lags tremendously on Low graphics in campaign. I really want ...

Re: Stay away from free to play games?

Ok, now I'm lost. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connotation Perhaps an analogy: You probably wouldn't say "A Grunt costs 12 points" (you'd say 12 gold), but if someone asked you "Does a Grunt cost 12 points?", you'd say "Yes." Maybe you'd say "Yes, they cost 12 gold" which carries the implication "I...

Re: Stay away from free to play games?

Clearing that up for you. Most people who use the term "my understanding" also carry a connotation of "correct me if I'm wrong". It is just the fact that any (browser)game I have ever noticed to be advertised with the words "free to play" actually has paid bonus content. That's just because ...

Re: Thunderstorms.

Is that so wesfreak? My feeling would be the exact opposite since to the best of my knowledge academia/education uses "protons" in connection with acid/base chemistry. I will ask our students if I get a chance. Perhaps it varies by region and level of formality. I always learned it as "hydrogen ion...

Re: Stay away from free to play games?

Not really since my understanding of "Free to Play" is that there is content that you can pay for, which is not true for wesnoth. No, "Free to Play" means exactly what it says. Wesnoth is free to play. The difference is, Wesnoth is open-source, so if it's closed down someone else will just start it...

Re: Funny forum memories.

Noy Circa 2006 was truly innovative and funny, where no newbie safe from the scourge of his bannhammer. It kinda reminds me of this ballad; Then waken'd Thor, And drew around his loins the mighty belt Of bear-sinews; With love fraternal harden'd he his shield, With eager haste he sharp'd his blunte...

i.e. Not all bots are spambots.

If we wrote a legitimate bot designed to give WML advice, and didn't use it to spam, it probably wouldn't get deleted on sight. :P

Re: Thunderstorms.

Great, another opportunity to use this one :eng: There is no pure de-ionized water in a non ultra clean laboratory environment since it always takes up CO2 from the air which forms protons and hydrogen carbonate anions. Acid rain also comes from gaseous compounds like SO2 which can be oxidized to S...

Re: StarCraft II

They're virtually identical. You're a powerful hero character, that runs around fighting waves of puny monsters that spawn from monster-generators (which can really only be stemmed by killing off the monster generator). You yourself can gain abilities, level up, and grab useable items. DOTA's innov...

Re: Where did you get your username from?

Jetrel was an obscure demon/angel in the book of enoch, which I picked since naming yourself after ridiculous/overpowered magic beings is all the rage for nerdy fantasy geeks. So I guess I'm one rung up the nerd totem pole since it isn't some elf name I made up. :lol2: So where did "Jetry...

I see three games on Wikipedia named Gauntlet, and none of them look all that similar to DotA. Could you clarify?
