Re: can't run compiled game

Remember you ran ./src/wesnoth, so that's where the executable is:
~/cvs/svn/wesnoth$ ./src/wesnoth .

If you want to run the game without installing it, see here.
If you want to install it, see here (basically, run # make install).

Re: First attempt at map creation

To make testing/reviewing easier: attached are a map screenshot at 25%, with the leaders red-circled (Scoast_25perc.jpg), and the map turned into a very simple scenario (Scoast_2.zip). Posting it here for any comments/criticism [...] There are four sides. Is it meant as a FFA map or for team play (2...

They were moved, it seems.
In the URL, change "files/wesnoth/" to "files/wesnoth-1.8/wesnoth-1.8.4/".
Or select your package from this location.

You may want to check out the Wesball map-pack by Bob_The_Mighty.
It has a 2 player and a 4 player tournament version.
It's not yet available for Wesnoth 1.8, so you may have to tweak the 1.6 version a bit.

if you join using that link I'll get 20% of all your points That's the same way that website itself works. You get a portion of what they receive by linking potential customers to companies. You are one of those potential customers, because what you do (e.g. filling out forms) is telling companies ...

Re: idea: Howto (Tutorial) Video

Depends on what exactly the purpose of this is. If possible, I'd like to cover more topics than those you listed. The same replay could be shown multiple times, each time covering a different topic, starting with the basics and working up to more advanced areas. While weapon specials have no priori...

Re: idea: Howto (Tutorial) Video

I've been thinking about what map to use and what factions. Here's what I came up with; tell me what you think... Four players in a 2vs2 match: not too many sides, but still requires team play. Factions not included are the Drakes and Northerners, because their abilities and weapon specials can also...

Re: idea: Howto (Tutorial) Video

Is that supposed to be part of the game (using a modified replay system), or a resource available in the Internet? If the latter, who'll make the video? If the first, what about localization of the voice-over? What I have in mind is downloadable content; an on-line video. After the usable comments ...

Re: Is there a built in way to perform a location goal?

I would like to have the AI run to the north border of the map [...] I could make all the units just leaders and use the leader_goal, [...] This sounds like the first scenario of the mainline campaign Liberty, which uses a combination of leader_goal and protect_unit: [ai] #Hopefully this will make ...
