Re: Inconsistency with griffons?

Ohh, I 100% agree with you, I gonna translate SoF in this month, and I will have big trouble with that bunch of gibberish... :( All of Krawg's dialogue is transliterated in the cfg files for your convenience, which I have copied here when the project of copying all the dialogue onto the wiki was st...

Re: Is 0.9 recurring equal to 1?

The trick behind this counter-intuitive fact is the essential trick to calculus (especially, the core delta/epsilon proof). This whole business feels wrong, but it's a very profound and powerful fact. :eng: QFT If 0.9 recurring =/= 1 then calculus is wrong, which it definitely isn't. It's equal and...

Re: What new terrain would be Great for your UMC?

I've always wondered what exactly these desert mountains were for in NR (Clearing the Mines) http://i50.tinypic.com/4ufnlt.png Spoil heaps? Ore? Whatever it is, updated desert mountains would make it look ridiculous. I'm fairly sure these mountains are used in UtBS as well, in Out of the Frying Pan....

Re: The Wesnoth Forum Faction Signup

I can see this is going to inappropriately awesome, so I'm afraid you're going to have to count me in.

I am a Boreal Wyrm, which hails from the world of the Extended Era. I like Wyrms :]

Re: Any interest in a Latin Translation?

I'm way ahead of you 8) My most up to date version of the unit names are here . Currently awaiting Aethaeryn's diatribe, chastisement and pillaging (but I need to tell him to do that first). I'm very open to alternate suggestions for units like the fencer, duelist, sharpshooter and marksman and thin...

Re: Glyn's Forest

There are many forests in Wesnoth : some are the habitat of elves, some are built into structures, some are peaceful and magnificent ; there are others that are plagued and sinister. One of these forests was not known to be evil by even some of the greatest of W esnoth’s scholars. Today, its name i...

It's mentioned in the wiki as well:

Re: Any interest in a Latin Translation?

Oh,sorry. But it is Lemur without an e! You're right there, except now our wraiths are named after a primate. :P The term "lemur" is derived from the Latin word lemures, meaning "spirits of the night" or "haunter". Go figure... and "larva" wasn't much better for anything ghosty or skeletal either.

Re: Any interest in a Latin Translation?

I think you're looking at the wrong version. All of our updates so far have only been committed into the dev releases. :eng: Unit names etc; the Saurians have already been named as you suggested and the female mage has become "saga", since "magus" refers specifically to a man, and "maga" doesn't rea...

I've waited a long time to hear that :]...

Annoyingly my hard drive annihilated itself, and I can't find a way to convert the pdfs without paying munnies. Could you upload them for me? Even better LBD appears to have fallen off the internet as of four months ago.

Re: Any interest in a Latin Translation?

The only loan words that retain 'th', afaik, are proper nouns. So it would be 'Proelium pro Vesnothe'. I prefer using faux loan words. If anything else for simplicity. I dug around for alternatives, but they don't shorten the original by much. Fifth declensions are used with a few exceptions for fem...

Re: Any interest in a Latin Translation?

Is anyone else interested in collaborating on this? As part of my joyous A-levels . I have to learn to translate from English into Latin, something I've never done before, in 7-8 months. I've studied Latin for five years, so I know enough (I hope). Even so, I need to practice like hell (maybe like ...

Re: The Sojournings of Grog (1.6)

From what I remember from UtBS and extracting the text. There is an advisor to the great trolly chief, a Shaman who leads you in the caves, blows up a cave wall, and fights dwarves (explaining the fist and fire thing). One who summons lava beasts (a Great High Priest) and an assistant. So they're de...

Re: The Sojournings of Grog (1.6)

A1 and the 'Siege Perilous' should now work properly. The runes don't do anything in the siege, just decoration. From now on most of our efforts will be spent in updating the campaign to 1.7 coding standards (as long as 1.8 doesn't come first). When that happens it is likely that we will no longer m...
