Re: Which is your favortie race to play and why?

And there are people who like the old ones better and even design patches to revert to them... :augh: So sad... though I do not revert to them, I quite liked the old sprites, with the exception of the glider who looked a bit like an overgrown parrot which could breathe fire, and for some reas...

Re: Invasion from the Unknown (1.70.2) for Wesnoth 1.7/1.8 ONLY

probably a moot point given in the later stages only the slyph, and maybe the marshal, before the final few scenarios, are of any notable use vs the chaos hordes, under the assumption you actually level certain aragwaithi.

You need to play with colusseum era, not default era

Re: Popularity of certain maps in MP

Yeah map familiarity would be a big one. Since I normally join ladder games, almost always as player 2, most of my games would be on the Freelands. Next would probably be Weldyn channel, then Hamlets/Den of Onis/Caves of the Basilik. I prefer to play on map where you can amass armies and actually fi...

Re: Which is your favortie race to play and why?

Hey wait a minute, this is any faction we happen to like playing as, not just the default ones? In that case, my favorite is the Aragwaith from IftU. Dunno why, but I love those guys. :D I love them too. They have high defenses and decent attacks. ...what? last time I played them, that was not the ...

Re: Blitzkrieg! (the value of speed in Wesnoth)

oh...well it was observable, but probably better I don't bring it up again, just wondered. anyways back on topic, had a look at replay, that was well played, just a shame about all those saurians/clasher reducing the cavalry heaviness of the blitz, but great nonetheless. (I just like the cavalry hea...

Re: why this game kinda sucks

Asides from this problem, which everyone else has tried to tell you solutions to, you could also just avoid it, assuming you're where I think you are, by replaying the previous scenario, and killing the orcs instead, which would allow you to go the alternate way via the snow plains, and kill more or...

Re: The War of the Dragon

To respond, should've read through the thread first in regards to hawken. Thanks for that in regards to the refugees, I suppose you could always make it defeat all enemy leaders and the spring the surprise victory condition when one dies, if that helps. Pirates: The main reason I said that was due t...

Re: The War of the Dragon

Well I just completed up to valemoi ruins on 1.6.5 medium. Have to say this was an excellent campaign so far, even more challenging that TRoW on medium. A few things I felt from the game though first recruiting windsong: I would be very angry here if the majority of my units received quick/intellige...

Re: Count Kromire: The Conquest of House Michbie

even though it was a while ago, thanks to this thread, which actually convinced me to get EoM and this campaign. I wonder how much different versions affect how easy this scenario is? I played on medium 1.6.5 and Michbie only recruited a few blood apprentices. I think what was key was eliminating un...

Re: Scenario help in ITFU

you should probably post what version as well that you're running it on, as well as difficulty. Did you read the scenario objectives would be my first question? If I recall them correctly, they should be quite clear that...galas? (forget the elf warrior's name) should go to the south-east, and to, i...

Re: The Point of Goblins?

level 0 spam, if left unchecked, can become very deadly vs most factions, due to sheer numerical force and damage output. Also goblins are probably the only good answer the orcs have at actually killing loyalist cavalry. Even at night, 2 orcish archers need all 6 strikes to kill cavalry, and 2 arche...

Re: The War of the Dragon- The Way Under

Thanks for that Velensk, rather ashamed my impatience and not redoing the turn leaving those crystals dead, although the damn soothsayer was lucky with it's 16% ctk. The berserker curse I did see, but at this stage the units going near it weren't suitable enough for it, so probably will have to alte...
