Re: What are you reading right now?

I just finished 1984 a bit ago. Is it bad that I actually thought "Oh, everyone is happy now, what a nice society" for a second at the end? Depends - do you consider Thomas Man's "Utopia" an utopic society? ;) If yes, I'd guess you are not from a former eastern block country so you miss some...

Re: What are you reading right now?

Right now I'm reading Anthony Swofford's "Jarhead" and like it - the style reminds me of fight club, except this is based on reality ;) To those of you who like Orwell (personally I love all his work) - it is very interesting to read "Burmese days", "Homage to Catalunya", "War diaries" and after tha...

Re: Outlaws!

I don't have a camera at hand to prove this (and perhaps it's just my style of holding a knive), but once I looked at the way I'm holding my training knive in my fist, I think the right hand dagger should be turned slightly clockwise.

Re: Attack Ability - Weird Strike

I'd guess it could be: a) some sort of attack which requires the attacker to jump on an unprepared enemy (say like the facehugger from aliens) - it is much easier to attack in confined spaces, or places with high terrain variations or generaly places where the oponnent is feeling safe - and those ar...

Re: Teaching College courses on a specific videogame?

Well I like diferential equations a lot - I used to solve some as a hobby you could say. This offers a way for people to see the value and possible ways of using them - those are not abstract models, which not everyone grasps and this way you can show people that mathematical modelling works and wit...

Re: Some sketches

OT: On the fencer portrait the edge of the rip on the clothing shouldn't be exactly matching the rip on the shoulder band - the shoulder band and the cloth underneath moves, and so the edges shouldn't be aligned.

Re: Merman campaign: Dead Water (0.9.13/14)

In the Trigaz scenario (Wesnoth 1.5.9, win xp, campaign downloaded today) game crashes, if I kill all undead before the orc leader. If I kill orc leader first scenario ends without problems.
I added a screenshot just in case :)

Re: Loyalist Portrait Series

I'm not sure, but wouldn't the sword of the master bowman hinder him where he has it?
I think he couldn't move without it bouncing off his legs.

Re: Favorite freeware game

Since I always loved the old UFO series - Ufo: Alien Invasion
It isn't finished and is a bit buggy, but aside from BfW I consider it my second choice.
I'll sure like to try Alien Arena, if I get my hand's on a decently linux supported graphics card which can handle it.
