Re: New animations
The books pages seem to suddenly flip at the end (not sure if that's intended or not) which looks very strange. Otherwise very nice work

Re: Art for Armies of the Future (Help Needed)
No, the Hex based system doesn't allow you to attack directly East or West. The directions are North, North East, South East, South, South West and North West. Hence there is no right or left attack. With an octagon or quadrilateral system (or any multiple of four for that matter; like dodecahedron)...

(Not to do with balance)
Isn't "Rhino Transport" a little too close to the Space Marine Rhino? Is there potential copyright issues with it? (I know Games Workshop are quite hot on copyright issues)

Re: Loyalist Portrait Series
Personally the horse seems fine to me (and I can't see anything wrong with the rider, but I feel less qualified to say definitively) even the head... then again I'm used to a Welsh Cob (sadly gone to horse heaven* now) and a Pony, but then again the Calvaryman line (to my unprofessional eye) is more...

Use .png, it's what the game uses and allows transparent and semi-transparent backgrounds.

Re: thespaceinvader sprites: current, animals
Still the same error... But well, maybe it's my firewall, (if that's what it's called correctly) which is really annoying. Unlikely to be your firewall if it's a 403 error, it's more likely something on the server side blocking you (htacess most likely) TSI won't get this error because his IP or si...

Re: Loyalist Portrait Series
Actually with another reference picture in the right position it doesn't seem too off. If you imagine the horse in just a standing position then it would be a little uncomfortable, but it's used in dressage for all kinds of things (which is where the ref pic came from). My only point it that there d...

Re: Captain Swings portrait work ... Undead
Wow, just wow, the second Wraith is awesome, though it might not be as imposing as the original I personally prefer it. Hiding the face in a way makes sense as it gets around having to paint an invisible thing inside of the robes, plus it adds dramatic effect (something ghosts are famed for). I love...

Re: What are you reading right now?
Earth-Thunder by Patrick Tilley (6th [and final I think] book of the Amtrak Wars series). It's a very old series (and quite rare too to my knowledge) that hasn't dated (Earth-Thunder was first published 1990). It takes place on Earth, after what you could probably call a cataclysm. America is home t...

Re: Loyalist Portrait Series
I agree and disagree with you Corvvs, my first reaction was that it looked wrong, but I think it's the front that's a little weird, and that may be the lack of shading. My only point is that the hind leg visible looks a little too thin at the top. ( Or at least compared to this picture which is roug...

Re: Loyalist Portrait Series
Final cavalryman lineart. There are 6 rider portraits left to do, so I'll focus on improving the next ones rather than saturate myself on perfecting this one. Special thanks to Cloud and Southernoracle for your insight about horse ridding & gear, it's a lifeline in the face of the upcomi...

Re: Loyalist Portrait Series
Before I add a very small amount of crit (which you are free to ignore) can I say: Marvellous work. I'm not an artist by any means of the imagination, but I have attempted to be, and horses are some of the hardest I found to draw. So I admire you for being able to draw both horse and rider without a...

Re: Loyalist Portrait Series
I love the pose for the Marshall already, it captures everything in my mind about the Marshall down to the slight arrogance but at the same time keeping the hardened soldier too. The sword position is good in my eyes too, it can be read either way, drawing his sword in preparation for a fight, or sh...

Okay, just thought I'd throw in an idea, reject mine as much as you want
