Re: Mainline: Question regarding Saurian Oracle/Soothsayer
1. The multiplayer Devs consider the factions to be finely balanced against each other (though they each play differently). If you want to suggest a way to "correct the imbalance" for a faction, please provide a replay demonstrating the imbalance first. [IMO] That said, the Oracle does se...

Re: Bending ZoC Rules
See movement_used. Shouldn't be hard to code a small change to that tag for A, for when A fights B. I think that's your best bet.

Re: Better storyline readability
My only argument with the current font is that it's inverse. IIRC they make it harder for people with sight problems to read (certainly seems the case when I take my glasses off, the dark background interferes with the text. Dark text on a light background is much easier. Plus there is an option to ...

Re: [Faction] The Væringjar
XD, that would be hilarious, just imagine the comments. "What's he going to do? Spill mead over us?" "I don't know sarge, he looks awful big." "Nah, bigger they are the harder th... Aieee my Spleen!" That or the image of a seven foot Viking beating an Elf repeatedly aro...

I'm not bothered either way, if you don't want your beautiful work obscured then take TSI's advice, if you want to rigorously keep to central sprites, do so
.

Re: random colour variation
Colour shift function is probably your best bit, with random variables will be the best bet. Or at least that's what I'd say

I'm happy with the look, and I can't see anything wrong with it myself, but I'm sure the others will point out anything my untrained eye might have missed.
EDIT - Just looked in game, and the spear doesn't look too good. Apart from that fine

Re: Grammar, Spelling, Punctuation and Capitalization
I added what I see as a mistake I found playing through SoF. I'm not entirely sure of it, but the emphasis used is very strange. Perhaps it's from old WML that let you bold things? Or if not I wonder if it could be done?

Re: Save us, oh Lord from the wrath of the mushroom-junkies!
Personally I'd keep the beard on the Fyrd, they're a peasant militia, not a bunch of zitted hoddies (I can take the mick out of teenagers because I still am one... just!). They're small enough compared to the Bóndi (and probably other L1's) to be an obvious L0 unit. I'll leave it up to you to decide...

Re: What are you reading right now?
Just started re-reading "Wolf of the Plains" by Conn Iggunlden. Really good book, all about Genghis Khan and his rise to that position. The upside is it doesn't feel like a boring historical fact book, in fact on the first time of reading, I hadn't even realised it was a real story until I...

Re: [Faction] The Væringjar
Indeed.
As for mushrooms, I was thinking all Væringjar are weaker in forests, they're too bulky to move. Snow and Ice are their favoured terrain due to the environment they live in
So Mushrooms are around 30% defense, perhaps the shammans will get heal on them or something

That's a pretty awesome idea actually, perhaps a mix of the two is in order?

Re: A website with wesnoth art. Licensing?
From my experience of Web design at school, it's important that you say you got permission. If you do or not is a little less relevant. [OTish]As a webmaster, I would say it's best to put it on the page of the footer, and with: <a href="[...]" target="_blank"> Unless you have it ...

Abs is a shortening for abdominal (stomach/chest) muscles (think muscle-man six pack for an extreme example

Re: Save us, oh Lord from the wrath of the mushroom-junkies!
That's not a huge problem to my eyes, sure it's a little annoying, but only when it's your turn and the unit's facing left.
And I must agree with what TSI said, your take on cavalry is brill
