Re: Mudcrawlers

Still needs more contrast, especially dark, but maybe a touch of light for the more liquified parts to represent that. Aside from that it looks good so far, though I'll withhold judgement until I've seen an animation, that's going to be the real test of these two.

Re: Wose shaman

As you said, the free hand needs some movement, I'd also say for a sweep as large as that there should be a bigger follow through with the sweep, otherwise it'd be hitting the SE unit with the weakest part of the sweep. Personally I wouldn't be too happy with this as both a S and SE animation, I thi...

Re: Campaign Creation

(no mac port yet) I doubt there is need for a port. It is only a plugin, meaning it can be installed whenever the program is installed, no matter what os. Eclipse itsself is available for mac for sure already. Indeed, Eclipse is written in Java (which is/was designed to be as universal as possible)...

Re: What are you reading right now?

I've just finished The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson (book 1 of the Mistborn trilogy). I have to admit I was pretty impressed by it, especially the magic "system" it uses, it's one I've never seen or really though about before and is a very nice concept. I should also be getting The Gh...

Re: Where did you get your username from?

Mine's pretty obvious. I almost wish I hadn't chosen it because it's so overused. For those who don't know the obvious - it's after Cloud Strife from FF7. My more commonly used nick (SoftlySplinter, which you'll see on IRC, amongst other things) ' comes from the song 'Sandblasted and set Free' by Ma...

Re: Comment on Eleazar's Terrain Improvements or other threa

I'm actually fairly happy with the current colours of the water. IIRC water generally gets more blue the deeper it gets. I can give a fair amount of advice should you ever decide to make river tiles as it's one thing that gets done so badly in games and I'm fairly knowledgeable on the subject.

Re: FORGE - Card game project

I must admit I'm tempted to put myself forward for the PHP side of things, I can't reasonably commit to being the only PHP developer and at the not the senior for several good reasons; first of all is my degree (CS&AI, 2nd year starts in September) as it will get priority over anything I do, sec...

Re: Zerovirus' sprites for UtBS

Something that's been bugging me for a while is the feet, especially the back foot (their left, our right) as there's very small when compared to other units and lack details. I've also noticed that your work can use a lot of horizontal and vertical lines, whilst not always a bad thing, doesn't alwa...

Re: Cloud's animations

Cool, I'll get to that.

Oh, good catch, I shall correct that. I was thinking it looped nicely without the step. It's the front leg that should be rooted in place, not the back

The spear position can change fairly easily. I shall make the changes mentioned, clean it up a touch and post up the .pngs

An issue that will be sorted out with animation. Especially a standing animation.

Re: Cloud's animations

Hopefully fixed the issue with the throw. If it's looking good I'll touch everything up and post the frames. I've also made a few minor alterations to the ne frame (lengthening the quiver and a TC strap for those oblivious to the obvious). I'm not sure the strap works for TC, but the quiver was prov...

Not sure how I can correct the throwing issue, I shall have a fiddle and see what I can do.

Re: Cloud's animations

A little rough around the edges at the moment, but here's the Guard's ranged attack with shading. Some of the shading I'm really not that happy with at the moment, but I thought I'd keep a progress report. Also - what was the full opinion on the most recent NE frame tsi? Anything I should be looking...

Re: Kitty's random stuff: Mudcrawler

Our mudcrawlers hardly crawl at the moment (this one at least looks like it could drag it's body along whilst the current sprite looks like it'd move more like a slug than a crawler).

What I would worry about slightly is this guy being mistaken for a Troll of some sort, especially with the red eyes.
