Modify unit macro, what are leaders called?

In my scenario I want to disable recruiting for side 1 at turn 2. Is it possible to do it using the MODIFY_UNIT macro? in the code below what do I need to change "leader" to? I've tried canrecruit=1 (to try to specify all units on side 1 that can recruit), but it doesn't work. [event] name=turn 2 [f...

Re: How'd you learn WML?

... Frankensteining other peoples code.. :lol2: "Frankensteining" hilarious wording! But I'm really glad to hear that it's quite usual for newbies to start by doing some barely ethical stuff with other folks' code. :mrgreen: It actually does feel "wrong" to use other peoples code... not saying it i...

Re: How'd you learn WML?

I'm glad that reference WML helps someone, It just confuses the bejesus outta me (I've never found anything useful, but I'm only a noob so I think it goes over my head).

I just like Frankensteining other peoples code, this is how I seem to learn the most..

Re: Don't know what is going wrong, shop code.

I'll remember that, if it goes wrong, floating point numbers is a real programming thing right not a WML thing? there isn't much in the wiki about debug statements. It tells me what one is, not how to use them. [debug_message]: outputs a message to Wesnoth's console output. Intended for campaign des...

Re: Don't know what is going wrong, shop code.

Thanks its working now. what did it was this... [set_variable] name=temporary_vara value=38 [/set_variable] [set_variable] name=temporary_vara add=$unit.damage_bonus [/set_variable] changing those 2 around for some reason stops it plucking a number seemingly out-of-the-air. I don't understand why, ...

Re: Changes to the gold carryover system in the campaigns

Markm thats what relic did for homeworld 2, the problem with it is, it punishes noobs for doing well (making future scenarios harder when they do well), and adds a horrible outside influence to the strategy for vets, they deliberately play *just good enough* to make later missions easier. Heck even ...

Re: Faction/leader choices - random?

If you know all the default units pretty well and can use all factions I think going random gives you a significant advantage. As for best leaders its not an easy choice. Some people like a heavy hitter, some people like lots of hp & high defense, some people like healers or leaders. I don't think a...

Re: Advertising Question

Its the best game on Linux & mac so all the penguins & dudes tell everybody about it. It gets overshadowed on windows. crysis or wesnoth?, crysis or wesnoth? ,crysis or wesnoth? ,crysis or wesnoth?, I've currently got crysis warhead on my pc desk waiting to be installed & played (still in wrapper). ...

Re: Don't know what is going wrong, shop code.

Is this the right way to do it?
Forgive me I'm very new to this...

Code: Select all

      [set_variable]
           name=temporary_vara
           value=$unit.damage_bonus
      [/set_variable]
      [set_variable]
           name=temporary_vara
           add=38
      [/set_variable]

Re: Don't know what is going wrong, shop code.

Yea I know that you gain 6 damage and the cost starts at 38 & increases by 12 for every upgrade. And I have enough money. :roll: I've checked this like 50 times & playtested it about 20 times (basically alot). I even re-wrote the whole thing and change the layout of the map... still same problem. :a...

Don't know what is going wrong, shop code.

This is a slice of my code from a shop in my scenario. What it is suppose to do is raise the cost for each subsequent upgrade, and it does this! Up until a point. When play testing the scenario with 5 units, it just stops working after the 5 or 6th upgrade. Can you see any problems with it? [option]...
