Re: The Dangerous Symphony

Thank you! The reason it ends this way is that usually it would not be the last music played in a scenario, but after it another music starts, and perhaps also another etc... A definitive ending could give a false idea of..."end" :) while there is another music waiting to play. The real end is anywa...

Just to let you know, I'm delaying a revision a bit because I'm studying some orchestration. :-)

Re: Storyline theme...

I really didn't make this track with the casual listener in mind. I wanted to make something somewhat unsettling that would make the average person feel somewhat uncomfortable with the harmonic content. You did it :-) Perhaps there is a difference between the first half and the second half, because...

Re: Wesnoth Music Source Files

And you're talking of drinks :-D
The point is that the Wesnoth project release source codes, and it means it consider the knowledge sharing more important than secret on how things are done. This perfectly applies to musics, too

Re: Wesnoth Music Source Files

Dude, that's exactly what I was saying, i'm not disagreeing. I'm saying, why would we release our music?
Because you already release source code. so this project has a different approach than Microsoft's or Coca-Cola's!

Re: The Dangerous Symphony

From what I can remember, I found Bolero more repetitive than my piece. :-D

Re: The Dangerous Symphony

About the repeating part, is was talking about the main theme. The "waltz" theme. I wasn't considering it really as a theme, more like the skeleton of the whole composition...but if taken as a theme, it is perhaps stated too many times. What's problematic is that I fear it's difficult to "remove" i...

Re: The Dangerous Symphony

The second thing is surely a limit of my current ability of composing, perhaps accentuated by connections not elaborate enough. The first thing is something I don't really feel, since it is also contradictory that you say that there are too many different parts AND that i repeat too much. In fact I ...

Re: Wesnoth Music Source Files

There is a reason Coca-Cola or WD-40 has never released its recipe's... That's the same reason source codes are often not released, so this argument doesn't apply here. Anyway, a good way to release music "source code" could be to release each instrument/line as a different ogg file, because they a...

Re: Storyline theme...

I like it. I think it would work perfectly for a suspence track. but I can also understand what doofus says. I think it's because the second half seems to be atonal, and it tends to confuse the casual listener. While the general feeling is right, perhaps there could be some more tonal, if not melodi...
