Re: Already wearing (e.g. void armour)

It doesn't like dollar-sign as start of variable name, and it doesn't like periods within variable name. So to try to step down the nested levels otherwise indicable by periods, I tried nesting tags: [object] id={ID} name= _ "Flak Jacket" image="icon_armor.png" description= _ "Supposedly this can be...

Re: Ability related questions

I like the idea of combining buster with steal. "Lets just nip into town to pick that chap's pocket..." ;)

[if] unit has a specified trait.... Thanks, that did it :)

Plopping a bunch of modified void_armour on a map to build a supply of Flak Jackets, I learned that one can keep piling on armour on top of armour. Hmm. So I looked for trait=whatever filters, but traits seem somewhat less easy to work with than abilities? I am trying to add, upon trying to don the ...

Kirves is the name of the attack? It should be. Not the name of the unit...

Re: Campaign: Tale of a Mage

It probably meant Javelineer.

Likely sed -i -e 's/Javeleer/Javelineer/' scenarios/*.cfg would fix it if you had such a command available and were in that add-on's directory... :)

Re: Fast Q

Of course, the above takes the "you" who is stepping on it to be side 2,3,4 or 5. Most likely though, by use of the term "you", you meant "the player, in single-player campaigns", which by default tends to be side 1. :)

Re: Mutiny in 1626

Wow, you completed it on NORMAL in version 0.0.7?!?! Wow! Maybe HARD is going to be more your speed... I have added so many helps to help me to start seeing NORMAL as possible that NORMAL is probably getting way too easy for you! As to invaders of lower tech, apparently it was not apparent to you th...

Mutiny in 1626

This campaign is set on one of the planets (E29) mentioned in my Between the Worlds bundle, but I made it a separate campaign this time rather than try to bundle yet another campaign into the bundle. I borrowed from the Internet Memes Era to make Riflemen and Cavalry, but even having weakened the ca...

Re: The Traitor: Resurrection-finished, but has balancing issues

I suspect that units vanishing when you try to load a savegame might be due to their all having the same ID. Sometime recently giving multiple units the same ID became a no-no.

Re: Middle Age era

In the medieval age was forbidden to use the crossbows (I dont remmind exactly why), but the crossbows was used a lot to kill the arabians in the crusades. This is quite simply incorrect. Aside from the fact that it's plenty obvious from observation that crossbows were widely used during the time, ...

Re: Someone-did-that-already-overview

to prevent a unit from dying in the last breath event, you must give it life (a.k.a. hitpoints) simple, eh? ;) Maybe not so much. I wasn't sure whether unit is at that point stored, so that unit.hitpoints could be set followed by an unstore of unit; or whether the unit was stored as first (or even ...

Re: Someone-did-that-already-overview

I need to retain a unit in the player's recall list (keep it from dying) during its last breath event. I looked at Tale of a Mage where they have a battle that is not to the death, but that relies on the next scenario (re)creating all the heroes so it just goes ahead and lets the dying unit die... R...

Re: Campaign bundle: Between the Worlds

Sorry, the Space Cadet / Starship Trooper storyline still has not really progressed, it has just been fleshed out more with choices of where the Cadet is from and given some illustrations and story parts. The Time Cadets get new stuff first, and might actually be largely responsible for developing m...

Re: Campaign: Expanding Wesnoth

There were about three closing tags in a row in April Showers without matching opening-tags, I got the thing to work by removing them then forgot the line-numbers and kept nothing to diff against. On the bright side though, the offending tags were exactly where the error verbiage said they were. I w...
