Re: Tying it all together

My "Between the Worlds" campaign started as simply a total copy of Heir to the Throne, transported into user-diskspace, with so far a few changes of name, details, and dialogue of a few of the characters. In order to provide the player a choice of characters to play, I also grabbed the first scenari...

Re: Idea for BIG campaign: The Fall of Wesnoth

What he is saying is that goblins and orcs are the same species. Goblins are just the runts of the litter. As such, the idea of the goblins rebeling from the orcs and stealing weapons, is about as rediculas as the idea of all the humans with genetic dwarfism rebeling against the rest of humanity. O...

Tying it all together

I thought it would be nice to tie the campaigns together in some way(s) for more continuity and so that all the work a player puts in building a set of veterans throughout a long campaign doesn't have to 'go to waste'. Thus I created "Between the Worlds", a portmanteau campaign in which you get to c...

Asynchronous 'multi-player'

It would be nice to have multiple players 'collaborate' on 'timeline building' without being 'constrained' to both/all being online at the same time. This would be a means by which 'scenarios' and 'campaigns' could be developed refined and honed. Instead of a contextless quick-and-dirty one-shot 'sh...

Re: Strategic Freedom

Wesnoth's campaigns seem, to me, an interesting case study in strategic freedom. The freedom comes in bursts, with a limited spacetime-locus. It seems like a selective set of worlds from a multiple worlds hypothesis type of universe. Take Heir to the Throne for example. You have lots of freedom as t...
