Re: Terrain tiling [Dirt for a change]

Hi, made some changes, but still not working, I believe the transitions are ok if the macro for dirt transition come before grass to water transition. The problem is that grass to water must come (as far as i know) before normal grass transition macros and that grass transition must be before dirt t...

Re: Terrain tiling [Dirt for a change]

Point taken turin, The transitions i thought of: some.png But i think i understand which corners aren't fine. Moreover the right one and the top right one imo, so if you see something else, just tell, Thanks a lot. edit: I'd really hope for a complete redraw of the tiles and transitions. you mean a ...

Re: Mermaid initiate portrait

Excellent!! The main thing I wonder here is if the water light reflection turned out OK? :hmm: I think that yes, at least i find it great. The tail fin may also need a little more love. It seems to face the viewer, maybe the part behind the arm should be darker, because of the mermaid upper body sha...

Re: Terrain tiling [Dirt for a change]

Hmmm, 176 views and no comment, you seem enthusiastic about those  Ok, here is more work, i made a second version of the 1 adjacent tile transitions (it's to say n, ne, nw, s, se, sw, but not n-ne and so on...) The result where it can apply : over-water.png over-ice.png The two arrows point to...

Re: Art issues for Mainline Campaigns

Hi, I would really like to help about all those issues, but first i must ask if this is still relevant, even if maybe out of date. Second i would like to have a little explanation about what you want about shadows, and then check by myself, if a unit needs an upgrade or not : Should shadows look lik...

Re: Northerners flag

Hey,

That's nice :),

Talking about the horns, they would need more shadows on the left (left of the image) part, no?
Maybe also on the bottom... to match village main shadow?

Just asking.

Well really nice overall! Good luck!

Re: Northerners flag

Hi, in may 2008 you wrote: I liked the horns that Syntax_Error proposed but i think the horns should be pointing down (easier to fit in the hex, without having to move the flagpole then). Maybe for not getting out of the hex, but if this is actually possible, Keeping the horn point down and trying a...

Re: Dragon sprite

Hi again, at the moment, i find the first quite better, but if you want to go for a crest, may i suggest something using more spikes? If i'm not clear, i think the "thing" on its back looks like this : http://www.dinosoria.com/dinosaures/spinosaurus.jpg Maybe it wouldn't be too confortable to fly, a...

Re: Dragon sprite

Sorry for not matching the comments and critiques guidelines, but well, this is simply excellent, can't find no problem, good anti aliasing, the texture is awesome, the colors are great, the size is good in my opinion, well, simply excellent, nothing to say. Can't wait for the animated parts of it. ...

Re: Dragon sprite

Hi, Excellent! just to say that the horns make the contrast i was talking about for the head, while the separation between the head and the neck makes it even better. Well, for the size i'm not competent... but if what turin says is true, then you should watch for the original not to be compromising...

Re: villages (3 huts variations)

Getting better each time =) For the windows, maybe some shade on the upper right "corner" (ok it's a circle...) and some lighting at the bottom left part of the one directly in front of the viewer would do even better, and make them more look like holes? The color used to make the circle perimeter i...

Re: Draugnatomy - portrait attempt

Hi, The fact that you drew the armor as falling, it's to say not reposing on any flesh is an excellent idea and the result is great, even if i had to look for some times to understand it. But i think the fact i took time to understand -omitting the fact that i'm dumb- relies mainly on the fact that ...

Re: Terrain tiling [First tree, first problems]

Hi, not much for today, as usual since some days :? , Well, since i wanted a little project for a pause in my homework i took a try on the dirt (i thought it was aliased as mud in 1.4??!!) I believe this transition applies only over ice and water so... dirttrip3.png Well remains the 2, 3 and 4 adjac...

Re: Dragon sprite

Animated gifs doesn't have transparency, the white probably is from transparency effect on the shadow ;) Oh, that must be why we can see the forum color behind then... *whistling* edit: unless there's a difference between full and medium transparencies, and in this case i apologize for my unnecessa...

Re: Dragon sprite

What Turuk just said + yes, you should imo draw the shadow as for the gryphon, it's to say with the wings too... (even if i can't help you about how to do it, hope someone better than me cross along...)

Really nice so far!!

edit: the white thing is not in your zip file, so maybe it's the forum....
