Re: Now that Unit_description is dead...

But"description" is so...descriptive. Yeah, except when you find out that "description" sometimes means "cat", and other times means "bicycle", and still other times means "nuclear bomb that's about to destroy your neighborhood". When "description" has ten separate definitions, all depending on the...

Re: changing starting locations using WML

Though, if the maps are identical for each scenario beyond the starting position, you could just change one map (which you would have to do at the least to update them anyways), and then just change the name to Map2.cfg (which is already placed in the following scenario WML) and just alter the star...

Re: changing starting locations using WML

Reasonable enough, except that it breaks the rule of "separation of concerns". It's a principle of design in computer science which states that you should "separate the things that change from the things that stay the same". In this case, the maps stay the same between scenarios, but the starting po...

Re: changing starting locations using WML

I think you can probably also simply use x= and y= in the side/leader definition to make the leader appear in a different place, but I wouldn't know if that still works or not. Nah, I know firsthand that doesn't work. Basically, I'm writing two scenarios with the same map, but different starting lo...

Re: AIs don't move anymore

That's strange; someone reported the same problem on my campaign; I'm currently running rc2, so perhaps I'll have to upgrade and check it out.

Is it possible to change starting positions using WML? Thanks for any info on this,

Re: Sceptre of Life, version 0.10.3

Good catch, thanks. I fixed the second bug, but wasn't able to replicate the first one. What version of wesnoth are you using? EDIT: Interestingly enough, in scenario 8 (not 7), those units from sc. 6 popped up. I fixed it, killing off all units from sc. 6. EDIT: I've got a 1.6 savepack complete; it...

Re: Wesnoth 1.5.14 - 1.6rc3

Hey, I'm really sorry to have to post this bug report here, but I've been IP blacklisted on GNA, so I can't post it there. My problem is a very small issue, almost not even worth mentioning. I had a piece of code that used to work on 1.4, but now on 1.6 (after updating to 1.6 code) it behaves somewh...

Re: Sceptre of Life, version 0.10.3

0.10.4 is out; I edited all the maps to include the 1.6rc2 terrain. I hear that SoL has a few bugs when playing on 1.6, so I've gotta play through it (again) and see if I can't spot them myself. Next on the agenda after that is scenario 11.

Btw, the even/odd version number convention is far from unique to Wesnoth. The Linux kernel uses it, for example.
Well, that settles it - I'm the weird one. And thanks for the link,

Re: Main Screen Images

By the way, is the wesnoth worldmap available in higher detail? Or are campaign developers free to 'fill in' smaller parts of the world to their own liking? Of course; the beauty of open source is that you're free to edit -anything-. And for the record, I did like the scenic maps myself; I think th...

okay, just making sure I understood correctly, tx, --OSJ Edit: Okay, I know I'm being a pest here, sorry. I just compiled && installed 1.6rc2, and the first thing that hit me was the fact that the map is back to being the intro screen's background. I had to slit my wrists a little, since I rather li...
