Re: Lighted cave spaces?

I just have a quick question. I like how you can have spaces with light filtering through, but if the light is coming from outside, why doesn't the light change with the time of day? So in other words why aren't lighted patches of cave affected by day and night? I'm pretty sure that's kind of out o...

Re: What are you reading right now?

It's not strictly "fleet combat", but Scott Westerfeld's Succession books have the best space battle description I have ever read in them. The first book, The Risen Empire , essentially is just a normal sci-fi book, but the second (and final, unfortunately), The Killing of Worlds , is an e...

However, you can fight against Dark Elves in my Elvish Legacy campaign.

Re: Gryphon Portrait: a pose that might actually work

It _is_ just shading. Looks like I got a bit overzealous with my paintbrush... haha.

[previous post deleted]

Here's my reference:

...and now that I looked at it again I _think_ I've fixed the leg. The green markings are a skeleton and explanation (hope it's legible; my handwriting is less than stellar with a tablet for some reason)

Re: Gryphon Portrait: a pose that might actually work

Yes, you're right. Now I see the brown. I want the legs to be a different color than the feathers, though... I'll fiddle around and see what happens. Thanks for the pointers.

Re: Gryphon Portrait: a pose that might actually work

@Turuk: I'll give that a shot - maybe a more gray beak or blurred line would work. @TSI: it's awkward because the gryphon is bending laterally along his spine, so that the chest faces the camera, but the legs don't. Maybe I'll ease the bending and give them a more interesting angle to show the knees...

Re: Gryphon Portrait: a pose that might actually work

I think I fixed that with shading. Part of the shoulder was under the fluffy gray stuff, so I popped it out a bit. How's it look?

I also made the colors match those of the sprite, and used the "curves" tool to make it all look less shiny.

Agh sorry 'bout that. There was, for a time a "peasants mp era" floating around on the add-on server. Maybe that was it? I never downloaded it myself, though.

Re: Gryphon Portrait: a pose that might actually work

I really like the way this is turning out, and the improvements you are making yourself. Thank you. his front legs are way too low/back on the body. If you look at the wings, they attach to shoulders that are right behind his big puffed out chest (which works fine), but the legs seem to attach very...
