Re: Statistics per unit

It would be nice to view detailed statistics/logs per unit, but I think the right place for this is after the scenario (also after multiplayer game), or through some submenu. Displaying information which does not influence player's strategy is IMHO wrong. You are correct, all information on the sid...

Re: Statistics per unit

i don't see how this would help much. when it comes to probability and math things get more and more inaccurate the smaller numbers of actions you take into account. The statistics menu doesn't mean anything because 0% total luck can still be very bad luck depending on when that luck occurred and e...

Re: Statistics per unit

I like this idea a lot. The statistics menu doesn't really say anything (one can easily have horrible luck and have inflicted/taken +0%), it is much better for individual units. It also allows you to look at the luck of a leveled unit. This also allows you to deduce the chance of an enemy unit's let...

Re: attack types and ranges

water and lightning already exist (I think). Delfador uses lightning, no one has resistance/vulnerability to it I think. Check the Mermaid initiate for water.

(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the scenario on? 1.4 medium (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) 1 (3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives? First I thought it was misleading, and then I realized that it actually gave me good advice as long as I ...

Re: Campaign: The Rise of Wesnoth

that can be solved with save file folders which is said will be implmented in-game if you don't use them already yourself.

Why would you want to keep autosaves after you win?

(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the scenario on? 1.4 medium (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) 4-5, much easier than the beech because I had the gold to do it with. I had also read the first paragraph of the walkthrough which told me to get lots of Royal...

Re: Campaign: The Rise of Wesnoth

It only shows once again, how bad was the idea (in 1.3-1.4) to autodelete autosaves and automatically save new scenario games. What? To the contrary, it was a very good idea, and save me a lot of work. Since its the first stable release since then, one shouldn't be surprised that there are some pro...

Re: Knalgans and water

Now, keeping in mind that terrain features are supposed to have equal shares of importance in maps Aren't the factions balanced in a no-water map? If not, then I think all has been said. For the most part I am starting to agree that a Knalgan water unit probably wouldn't be worth it. For the sake o...

Re: reducing save/loading

The problem I have with autosaves is this: The default saveload is ~13, which means none of your recent moves are ever set in stone and your load menus are spammed with autosaves. Rarely will I ever go more than one turn back, this means only 2 autosaves are ever used at a time. This also means that...

Re: Campaign: The Rise of Wesnoth

There's a problem with the Ka'lian. Its not really critical, but the scenario saves over itself, so once you pick your second quest, you cannot go back to your first quest if necessary without redoing the previous scenario (A new land). This wouldn't be that hard if this couldn't also be repeated wi...

Re: Knalgans and water

I think the emphasis here is on "help to". Even if knalgans had a specialized water unit of their own, I am skeptical that the game would be able to actually benefit from water-heavy maps; water units tend to have relatively strong defense (in water, anyhow) and relatively weak offense, making wate...

Re: Knalgans and water

I am not saying that *Wesnoth* is unbalanced. Balance is relative to maps (given the correct map most balancing efforts are certain to be unnecessary). The current maps are balanced relative to the factions so there is *no* imbalance. I am saying that an extra (weak-ish) unit could help to allow a l...
