Re: Brome's music

Have a look here:
http://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=17927

You may find some helpful resources to get started.

Also the Wesnoth Music Dev Team has a library of free high quality sf2 samples which can be found here:
http://www.freesf2.com

Hope this helps!

Are we in need of more Battle Music?

I've got something in the oven that would definitely work as a battle track, but I'm wondering if we need more. Aleksi's battle.ogg seems to be everyone's choice favorite for battle music. Casualties of War is a newer battle track so it hasn't made it to any mainline campaigns, I'm wondering if we r...

Re: Weight of Revenge

I like it. It changes moods twice though so I'm not sure where it would fit. It sounds more like it should be scored to picture. I can hear SD2, SC, and VoP or VotA, as well as SO in there if I'm not mistaken. Great use of EWQL. I'm not a huge fan of the SO Strings since I've acquired VSL, I would s...

Re: Telaron's music

Yes, I pretty much agree with what West and PPH said. It's quite short, un-finished and the samples are a bit bad. But harmonically, it's not bad at all. Definitely keep using your ear for composition! And as for the drums in Casualties of War, I just used a snare drum roll for the introductory cres...

Re: Just a little introduction to myself...

Cool stuff Walexo! I liked the Final Boss tune a lot. The only thing I would say is to get your hands on some orchestral samples because that's what we're looking for, and see what you can do. I would also suggest listening to the mainline music (and as much classical music as you can) to get an ide...

Re: Sad

Hey, just a quick question, when does this tune trigger anyway? I've played the game quite a bit and don't ever recall hearing sad.ogg :) I know it was mentioned that it plays when an ally dies, but usually when that has happened to me, it was game over. Is this for a certain scenario? Multiplayer o...

Re: Just a little introduction to myself...

Welcome to the forums! I would suggest at this point to just post something as close to a Wesnoth style as you have, just for us to see what you can do and with what quality are your samples etc. This plays a huge part in whether or not you can contribute. Before I composed anything for the game, I ...

Re: Silvan Sanctuary (possible replacement for "Elf land")

About half way through, the music cuts out for a second. I'm assuming this was a rendering error and not meant for the final version :D If it was, I would suggest against keeping it in. I really like where you're going with this West, and it's starting to develop and gain more and more struct...

Re: Need a little help getting started

Are you on a PC or Mac? If you're on a tight budget and you're on a Mac, technically you CAN compose with GarageBand. Meaning you can load AU instruments onto channels and write MIDI notes on those channels to produce sound. If you're on a PC, I would reccomend shelling out $75 on Cubase Essential 5...

As a LoM you won't need 'approval' from other LoM's. But we should strive for consensus, yes.
Right. :D

Re: Full Length Epic Northerners Battle Theme

Yup, pretty much. You will be reviewing submissions, giving contributors tips on how to improve their compositions, etc. You will also get moderation priveleges so you can lock/split threads and so on, plus SVN access so you can commit tracks to mainline. I've had problems getting the SVN thing wor...
