Re: East West Quantum Leap

I think the general consensus is that VSL is pretty much the best stuff you can get. AFAIK it's a lot less instant gratification than EWQL; the library needs a lot more work to set up and use, but the results are also much more impressive. They sound quite different too, EWQL has that processed blo...

Re: Inspiration?

Hi Ferrous, welcome to the forum! I gather inspiration from in-game graphics and music. I definitely want the music to fit the game, and although FFVII is one of my favorite soundtracks, it doesn't really have a place in Wesnoth. Maybe FFIX would fit better... Either way, as far as techniques I'm su...

Re: East West Quantum Leap

For Wesnoth, EWQLSO Gold.

For everything else, I would say if you're a hobbyist then get Goliath, since it has a bit of everything mixed in.

But I would get VSL instead of EWQL :D

Re: Full Length Epic Northerners Battle Theme

Unfortunately I can't listen to the updated piece at this very moment, but I will do so later. Have a look here: http://vsl.co.at/en/211/497/1685/1693/1342.htm It's not a bad deal for what you get. The Epic Horns in that set are amazing. I would suggest buying it just for those. It's an 8 French Hor...

Re: Short mainline submissions (unfinished)

That's pretty harsh PeterPorty. Instead of shooting him down, why not give constructive criticism instead. Besides, in the end it is the LOM's decision of the music is caliber enough for mainline. That being said, you've made some great progress CheeseLord since the stuff I've heard before. The firs...

I agree, it's a great site. I haven't been a regular on there, but I signed up a couple years ago, and there are some talented people there. Definitely worth checking out.

Re: Does this have the Wesnoth sound

Just out of curiosity, have you been playing the game with your speakers off? Haha West you crack me up! Seriously though man, he's right. This wouldn't fit anywhere in the game. Listen to the music before posting something. And read this: http://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=20025 It's t...

Re: Winter music on piano?

Post it, let's hear it.

Although I'm not sure how fitting a solo piano track would be for Wesnoth...if it's a track I would suggest adding a flute or oboe or something to make it more fitting, but I can't say anything without hearing it first so until then...

Re: New Battle Music

Whoa, hey seriously...you guys want my head to be so big that I have to walk through doors sideways? ;) Thanks for the compliments! I tried reviving this one, to no avail. It's hard for me to pick up something that I created even 2 weeks ago. I'm just not in the same mindset anymore. But I can make ...

Re: New Battle Music

Wow, thanks for the comments everyone! I guess I have no choice :D I'll try to summon this one back to life...I just had 2 Hard Drives fail in the last 2 weeks which had ALL of my samples libraries on them :x so I'm taking all the time to reinstall them. It's quite a lengthy process... I'll post an ...

New Battle Music

I've got something in the works here for use in Battle type situations. It's not complete yet, actually it's just started. But for the last week or so I haven't touched it. If I find enough motivation or support to bring it back to life, I will, if it is called for. New Battle Music It's a bit un-mi...

Re: Free Orchestral Soundfonts

My Intakt version of Stormdrum / RA doesn't work with Snow Leopard, as well PLAY 1.2.5 isn't "supported" in Snow Leopard. VSL Ensemble as well doesn't work with Snow Leopard.

That's basically everything I use.

Sure, a DAW can have compatibility but without the software, there's not much use of it.

Re: Free Orchestral Soundfonts

Unless you have a pirated copy of Snow Leopard I don't see why you wouldn't register it.

But I would suggest strongly against Snow Leopard, as many DAW's and composing tools simply aren't compatible with Snow Leopard.

Re: Weight of Revenge

A good converter program for mac is Switch. You may need to buy the ogg. format though. The download is free, and you can convert mp3 to wav without payment.
Why would you convert .mp3 to .wav? That would be going against everything a .wav file is ;)
