Check Preferences if Haloes / floating labels are turned on.

As for the population, I don't know, though there were no workers on food tiles?

I agree that we should keep the "flavour" of GE, especially since I think it works already. We just need to tweak it a bit more. Lowering the initial food target would certainly make the match go faster- and I think that's actually all it takes. Making all HQ generate 2 food at is also a g...
