Re: Luck in Wesnoth: Rationale

well , in theory it's not impossible to predict atmoshperic noise, this may be obvius to most people, but i'm sure some think it's not obvius, and that in fact is impossible even in theory. And then we could fall in a determinism vs non-determinism discussion..... then we start talking about quantum...

Re: Ladder Site Online...

I wish there is a fast ladder or to ladder tiem to change. I felt that the default timer is a lot better for my taste, the ladder timer is too slow and i was forced to stop playing because i can't afford so slow games. Plus it makes everthing more boring to me. I think the default timer is pretty ni...

Re: Save time - the DIY luck thread post

I suspect this really belongs in off-topic, but with this debate going on I'll let this get on here. With countless posts about luck, maybe it's now time to go to mass production. Here is a form I proposed gets used for future posts about luck. CROSS ALL THE BOXES THAT APPLY Dear [ X] Dave [ X] The...

Re: Luck in Wesnoth: Rationale

Thirdly a computer is quite unable to create random numbers, as all the results of his calculations are always completely predictable. For some reason dave avoided this one and i think is preety important. Of course the result of a computer calculation is COMPLETLY predictable if you KNOW all the r...

I wanna be the guy

Just wanted to promote this freeware game that has a very interesting design and is very funny

the least you know about the game before you download it, more fun it is. so i recommend going straight to the download, do it and play it.

Re: Wesnoth liscence

So basically you are making impossible to me to be able to build a competitive environement where is very hard to cheat, if i have to give away all the code involved with the wesnoth code i borrow, hacking in and cheating in a multiplayer online environment is just too easy.

Wesnoth liscence

I didn't know where to put this but i don't understand the liscence completly. Suppose i borrow the wesnoth code and other resources for a game, i must provide access to all the code i borrowed to the public only, or i also need to offer to the public all the code i create if i want to use wesnoth r...

Re: Vision change

Ok, know i have an idea how hard it will be to implement and is at expected, i have to think now if there is a way that i can put this in the mainline development, at least as only multiplayer feature, and devs accepting, because if there is a chance that happens, then the programmers could take a c...

Re: Multiplayer Competitive Era

admiral, i know what i want to achieve, but how to do it, i don't have that clear, i would try, but in order to do what i want i need vision changed. I'm asking suggestions because i did it completly deterministic as i said. But there are some problems with it. One of them is that maths skills gain ...

Re: Vision change

Well i have talked with them today, and say it can be done but can take quite a while, and they didn't want to give me numbers because, they prefer not to. Since one of them is on vacation i prefer for him to come back (two weeks) before tell them to start doing it. Is there any chance the main deve...

Re: Multiplayer Competitive Era

Madnesbane, this matter has not been thought light. I've desire to build a strategy games for years , i wander in the game design forum if sirlin.net for years and even talked and gave ideas on several projects that today run. I understand what you say, but i don't want the player to play against a ...
