Re: Are there any open source game rankings?

there are several pages about freewares , indie games, etc, and no, generally wesnoth is not very well ranked. (not that i think it shouldn't, but people on this sites think differnt, they generally give wesnoth nice scores, but when it comes to rank, they just forget it)

Re: Luck rant [split from Luck in Wesnoth: Rationale]

no matter how many games you play you can'[t have 100 certainity, but you can have close to it. Anyway i don't need a 99.99% to be happy. The problem is that as wintermute note, in a random heavy game, every game you add, just ensure the result is correct by a small margin. Anyway, i think that with...

Re: Luck rant [split from Luck in Wesnoth: Rationale]

I decided to step back, because you are talking about sports i know very little or nothing. So i can't really do insightfull comments here. i don't even know the rules of beisboll, or football. And i have a very strong and controversial opinion in soccer, a sport i know very very well (i'm from arge...

Re: Tournament of Champions 4

The only matchup i have seen this happen is undead vs undead, and i already talked about it in other thread, i'm surprised of reading thjis because when i told that undead vs undead is prone to stalemates i found that people disagree with me. But anyway, yeah undead vs undead , the best strategy is ...

Re: Luck rant [split from Luck in Wesnoth: Rationale]

perhaps i shall delve into another example. im sure we all know the casino game slot machines. . a slot machine is run on a virtual reel each stop on the actual reel may correspond to more than one stop on the virtual reel. Simply put, the odds of hitting a particular image on the actual reel depen...

Re: The Multiplayer Map Reader's Digest

I have been playing on weldyn channel a lot in the ladder, to try learn about the map, but don't have any advice yet. I want to talk a little about the 1v1 maps. Re: How does the action timer works?

I understand that there is a big problem to count movement as an action, it becomes abusable. But sides that have PLENTY Of units like undead and northernes seems to have problem, and aren't compensated for this. It would be nice to add a timer like "you recive X seconds per turn + Y for each unit y...

Re: Luck rant [split from Luck in Wesnoth: Rationale]

Heroes3: It had MORE LUCK than wesnoth. I've been a lot in the heroes "competitive community" And you had to make TONS of ruels to play to reduce the infinite luck there was in heroes3. No this, no thtat, not else. But did it hurt the competitive environment? of course, plz, the competitive communit...

Re: Luck rant [split from Luck in Wesnoth: Rationale]

Because making a NEW original idea, will cost Too much resources, i'm not able to afford it. This mod will be expensive enough to me. and take quite a time. Adidtionaly why not take advantage of this game graphics? i think the game graphics are top. i don't know technically, but i don't remember a s...

Re: Luck rant [split from Luck in Wesnoth: Rationale]

ok, i get your point. But i was refering to the term tbs as that , games of strategy that are turn based opposed to be played in real time (or simultaneous, and chess and go are games of strategy, that are turn based). And when i was refering to Hardcore players of tbs, i mean players that play game...

Re: Luck rant [split from Luck in Wesnoth: Rationale]

no velensk, never said that MOST people like it the other way. In fact i'm pretty sure MOST people like the RNG thing. I just say that the amount of people that don't like the RNG is bigger that what can be figured based on forum and lobby discussion. I think that if we run a poll about how many peo...

Re: Luck rant [split from Luck in Wesnoth: Rationale]

i love this luck threads. Anywya this guy lost all my respect when he said "ai have better luck" What crap.. I hate when some devs point out that that non luck mods fails, and that means people want more luck (i want to give more of an explanation of why they fail, but it will be very long) And of c...
