Re: The Hammer of Thursagan portrait repaints

Hey! Great to have you back! :D I don't really remember Pelias' character so my critique won't cover such issues... What kind of unit is he? I can't think of a loyalist unit with a horse and a bow? Or is he a campaign specific one? (if he is a Cavalryman check LordBob's portraits for inspiration!) T...

Re: Khalifate facelift: final tweaks in progress

I finally got around to finishing the Hakim portrait. Well at least to my eye it's finished... Pretty pleased with how it turned out. :) Me too! :) That looks like a major improvement in your painting skills! Only two crits: While I love the way you painted his skin and the glass some of his clothi...

Re: Elvish "pupilless" eyes - possible explanations

Elves developed by Kitty have scary eyes. The look like blind. Just for the sake of completeness: I didn't introduce those - I took them as part of canon from Jetrel's HttT Kalenz portrait. They have been that way a long time. They are a very minor and (very easy) means to make the elves a tiny bit...

Re: Campaign art - The Rise of Wesnoth

:hmm: While I very much like both proposed helmet designs for Typhon (the right one is just awesome!) he still isn't very lord-like. I still suggest tilting his head up... Addoran is probably my overall favourite Wesnoth portrait atm! About Aryad's colours - I don't think they are too fancy for an e...

Re: Campaign art - Descent into Darkness

:D It is just so great seeing all the mainline campaigns getting all original in-style art! I agree with zookeeper about the age gap being too big between the two humanoid Malin variants - generally the first one looks like a kid. The older human Malin has a nice attitude! But his left hand should b...

Re: Campaign art - The Rise of Wesnoth

Nice stuff! Some quick comments: Addoran's mirrored head works remarkably well! He seems a tiny bit cross-eyed. And I love how the real feathers on his helmet anticipate the metallic wings on the later loyalists! Typhon's tail and weapon are very cool but I don't really like the vibe I get from his ...

Re: Re-creating the map to hi-res?

A new and bigger map would indeed be awesome! To shortly interrupt the geography discussion and get back to the map itself: I'm stylistically very happy with the current look. There are only some very minor quibbles: The depiction of forests is closer to the one of the cities than of mountains. The ...

Re: Kitty's random stuff: Liberty

Thanks for all your comments! Here are some revisions to a couple of them: new wings for Ethiliel (who will also get wing-less variants), an older face for Gerrick, a new mouth for mad Deoran and a new head for Hylas (who wasn't criticized from your side but felt too stiff and statuesque to me). Plu...

Re: Kitty's random stuff: Liberty

Ah - if that should still be the case I'd do an additional dismounted neutral variant. Let's wait what zookeeper has to say...

Re: Kitty's random stuff: Liberty

He is a mounted unit - showing him off his horse doesn't make much sense to me.

Re: Campaign art - The Rise of Wesnoth

Much new stuff! :D The Familiar takes some getting used to from my side. But basically a flying skull with boney wings is very cool! I'm not so much of a fan of the differently coloured glass eyes, somehow they are more cheesey than necessary - to me empty sockets would be more scary. And the candle...

Re: Kitty's random stuff: Liberty

Ok, the mermaid is officially added to my to-do-list.

Does somebody know if the Liberty portraits have been commited yet? Zookeeper?

And here is the new project: The South Guard. Starts for various of the characters.

Re: Kitty's random stuff: Liberty

And here is Dommel...

With him Liberty is finished portrait-wise. Now I need to decide which campaign to take care of next, probably the South Guard, but I'm not sure yet.

Re: Kitty's random stuff: Liberty

Regarding the question of the future look of the elves: I think I already talked about this issue somewhere in this thread but basically I plan to redo the elves when we'll have all the generic and all the mainline campaign portraits finished - that means that we are talking about no immediate chang...
