Re: LordBob's random stuff : trolls !

I love all the detail you put on him! About the carvings - I still like the idea very, very much but those don't work too well yet, the first version feels too fine and precise for trolls and the last one is rather hard to make out... Someone suggested filling the carvings with paint, I'm thinking a...

Re: Heir to the Throne: Portraits

Thanks for all those niggling pointers about his face - I'll incorporate most of them when I get around to the actual painting, continuing to fiddle around with the lineart and then have him look differently anyways after the painting costs too much time for now... So here are his two neutral versio...

Re: Heir to the Throne: Portraits

zookeeper: You're unfortunately right about the question of the use of the sceptre version. While drawing I imagined it used in aggressive situations but I guess he never threatens to burn his enemies with his magical sceptre if they don't clear the way... So this one will go to the trash and neutr...

Re: NR Portraits

You get my sympathy for the moving and perhaps even a cookie if you finish Tallin  - Silverish strips? If you mean the parts that are down the center of her torso and off to the side of the leather on to green, those are tiny belt buckles to try to give her more interest instead of just dirty ...

Re: Campaign art - Sceptre of Fire

Dunno if this is alright - if need be, I could replace some parts with the trademark leather plates. That looks very interesting and promising to me -and very much alright! I look very much forward to seeing how this will tun out, but if this works I can definitely imagine incorporating scale armou...

Re: Heir to the Throne: Portraits

Some progress on Konrad... The elvish version will be a bit more different from the human one than in my previous attempts, but I feel that it is there now. Plus a series of expressions, I will do most of them in both costumes since he changes it pretty much in the middle of the campaign not after t...

Re: NR Portraits

Nice to see a new one shaping up! But what has become of Talin?! I would very much like to see one of this guys really finished up to a state that would be commitable to the game instead of tons of wip's… Anyways. There's already been a lot said about Elenia and I hope I don't re-iterate too much! A...

Re: LordBob's random stuff : trolls !

Don't mind the colours: they were deliberately picked bright for an easier definition of different gear parts, but are due for a change (i.e blue parts will become rusted steel, yellow parts bleached bone, and the greenish tint that is indeed planned). I'll change the head as suggested, however fro...

Re: Heir to the Throne: Portraits

Thanks for all the input! And you're all right a slightly elvish inspired costume for the earlier scenarious would indeed be nice. But that means I'll have to do two versions of every expression I'll do. After talking with zookeeper yesterday I plan to do neutral, mad, glad and leadership plus a ver...

Re: Campaign art - Sceptre of Fire

Really, really cool! I love the bags under his eyes!

And your list got pretty short by now :) I look forward to seeing your depiction of an older version of "my" Haldric!

Re: Heir to the Throne: Portraits

I personally would like to see Konrad even more elf-like in his outfit, because he was completely surrounded and immersed by an elven society. This is what made the campaign a bit different, anyways, but it was never implemented much by anything else but unit choices. Until the end of the campaign ...

Re: Valkiers portraits: It's like I can touch you!

No the not centered lacing is not a grave offense by many means :P Actually I couldn't care less. Overall he looks really nice by now! And you're really, really close to getting him done. But I've still got some bickering left before you go on and do the outlining: His belt doesn't follow the shape ...

Re: LordBob's random stuff : trolls !

I'm so glad you're interested in doing trolls! I'm just at a total loss for enthusiasm for painting monsters right now, so I would be very, very happy if you provided the missing trolls! In fact feel free to get rid of my two trolls if you can come up with a better concept and are willing to redo th...

Re: Campaign art - Sceptre of Fire

Yes, Baglur looks fine to me now! How many more do you have to finish for SoF? And thanks for the chainmail-tut! It's quite insightful to see how differently one can approach this tricky subject – I'll try to incorporate parts of your technique in my next chainmail for sure! In the very last step yo...

Heir to the Throne: Portraits

I got the go ahead to start working on a set of new portraits for Heir to the Throne from Jetrel. I'm a bit anxious since Jet's original ones have been around for so long and become quite iconic... Anyways, here are first versions of neutral Konrad and Lisar (I plan at least angry and happy variants...
