Re: Directional facing graphics should be removed

I know it's perfectly possible to tell which unit is which, but my case is that having two different graphical representations of units (front and back) makes it more cluttered, not that it hides any information from the player. The issue of clutter is especially bad for campaigns and games designed...

Directional facing graphics should be removed

When I was playing the game today, I noticed some weird looking little unit that was, on closer inspection, a goblin spearman facing toward the north. After browsing the forums some, I found that, apparently, units with different facing in the hexes has been planned. I suggest that having all the un...

Re: recruit, recall, dismiss

I always recall my loyal units, since they are often few in number anyways and they don't cost any money to keep on the field. Then I always recall my units with Leadership, illuminate, healing, or anything else that can benefit other units since they are important for leveling my fresh recruits. Af...

Re: Can't lvl up horseman

I find that the easiest way to level up Horsemen is, ironically, to not dedicate yourself to it. If you just kept a few horsemen around and went for targets of opportunity, you would find yourself repeatedly nailing weak enemies left and right simply by virtue of the horsemen having a niche that nea...

If I may kindly be allowed to engage in satire for a minute: I can be fit enough to climb Mt. Everest, popular enough to be president, talented enough to be a Hollywood actor, and knowledgeable enough to find the cure to cancer in a single week. ... I just don't because I don't see why I need to pro...

I had a long, informative post about this that I just accidentally deleted, so...

In short, don't fix what ain't broke.

Re: The best two traits, etc.

Hehe. I pump myself up physically and mentally before I play campaigns now.

And my proudest moment was not loading when my my shaman got killed by a lone grunt with one more experience point left before levelling. ... :annoyed:

Re: Discussion of 2D RTSes. Still viable?

I meant it had one of the most awkward cameras I had ever seen in a video game >.> You can basically only move the camera forward or backward, and pressing right or left rotated your view... so trying to get a good view of things is like a game in itself, only annoying, unrewarding, and way too hard...

Re: RIPLIB & the Merfolk Hoplite

RIPLIB need only apply for one level-up branch (the Triton). This is also why Swordsmen/Pikemen losing a ranged attack, Pillagers losing slash, and Sorceresses losing heal do not violate RIPLIB.

Re: How should I improve?

You should learn to improve by trying to figure out how to kill enemy leaders faster and more reliably while keeping the enemy from killing your leader.

If they haven't even familiarized themselves with the way randomness works in this game, I would count them as not even having started.

But whatever you want, it's semantics.

Ever since I promised myself to stop save-load cheating on campaigns, I have come to appreciate Intelligent much much more :augh: . Anyways, I value Resilience and for most units and Strong or dextrous, depending on their main mode of attack. Quick has probably saved my butt a great many times, I ju...

Re: Why do people quit playing?

I've never seen the luck factor as a reason for why people quit the game. It might be a very good reason for many people to not start to play the game, but... I mean, it's not really like a bait and switch situation here.

Just my 2 cents.
