Re: Earthquake, flooding, lightinings & c.

Could we just ignore all that and simply add a particle effects generator to the engine? I just want the sky to darken and water to fall. If someone wants to make it in their campaign that a storm is particularly horrible and has a negative effect on units, fine, add it to the scenario WML. However,...

Re: Hello (Intro + Questions)

All computer operating systems consist of two parts: a friendly, easy to use interface, and the kernel, the guts of the beast. When you use the friendly interface, called a GUI, you are indirectly telling the kernel what to do. What Megane wants you to do is interact with the kernel directly. I coul...

Re: Worlds other than Wesnoth?

Okay, let's go over this again. Yes, there exists mods out there for popular video games, and some of those mods are based on copyrighted material. Still, those mods exist. Why? We can classify mods into four different categories: 1. The mod is small and not well known. Either the copyright holder d...

More on appearance. I was hoping that I could try to draw portraits of all the units and have spriters make sprites based on those, but for now, there just isn't enough time. Fighter, Male: About 5.5-6 feet tall. No visible muscle. Brown boots, brown pants, white, long-sleeved shirt with rolled up c...

Re: Knalgan flag

I think you should turn it the other way so that it looks like it is blowing the same way as the other flags. Other flags wave right to left, this one looks like it is waving left to right.

Re: i think this is a good idea, opinions please

Short answer: No Explanation: Sorry. We should probably add that to the list of FPIs (Frequently Posted Ideas): port Wesnoth to a game console. It's hard enough to make a game that works on Windows, Mac, and at least half a dozen versions of Linux. Image how hard it would be to make it work on a con...

Re: Great victory for Wesnoth

Please let this be an April Fool's joke. Please. I don't want to see Linux and Mac versions disappear! Do you realize what happened when Microsoft bought Bungie? Halo was supposed to be for Mac! They killed it, all my hopes and dreams for Mac gaming! I don't want to see a buggy, patch-ridden Wesnoth...

Maybe he could wear the shield on his back. When an enemy attacks, you can animate him to have him turn his back to his enemy. Just a suggestion.

Re: Please don't use swear words in game text

I know it has been a while, but I would just like to say that as long as we do not use the cartoon symbols for swearing, I don't particularly care one way or the other.

Re: Support Wesnoth: Vote for and Rate at Websites!

You could try this: send emails to video game reviewers in an attempt to get Wesnoth reviewed. This serves two purposes: it gains us more people and it points out any of the game's flaws so we can fix them. For example, I sent this friendly email to a fellow named Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw who does vide...
