Re: Valkiers portraits: WSAS rebirthing NR

My only nitpick is that he is holding his bow oddly. Either his left hand should be flipped so the palm side faces the viewer. or the string needs to be moved behind his arm.

How do Saurians move?

Strange question, I know, but I'm wondering what kind of gait your average Saurian has. I'm interested in better establishing bits and pieces of their biology and such. Here are some of the more likely movement modes I've been able to think of: 1. Bipedal-Human: walking erect or at least semi-erect ...

Re: Genders for all races

It's not so much that both genders are not equally represented due to aesthetic reasons, but rather because it means that much more art to make, and really having some units exist as one gender only does give each race and faction in Wesnoth flavor. Female elvish fighters I can understand, especiall...

Re: Particle engine for weather effects

Okay, I was wrong about the exact discussion, but the overall concept is the same: http://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=20872

Particle engine for weather effects

Adding a global particle engine for weather effects has been discussed and has largely been seen as a good idea, but many of the past discussions have been bogged down with discussion of the implementation of weather as a defense/damage modifier. As far as I'm concerned weather should play no part i...

Re: Resources for music contributors

Well, I'm a young Oboeist, and I love the Battle for Wesnoth music, but the only real way that I could help is if I found TIFF/Music XML file replicas of the actual pieces. I have Finale Printmusic 2010, so I could do a lot, but only with sheet music.... :annoyed: Right now I'm working out how the t...

I'd recommend the VLC open-source media player. You can get it here.

Re: minotaur art suggestion/comments wanted

I'm pretty sure ancient rockets didn't have any fins. Instead, they had a rod fastened to their side which extended 2 or so feet from the back of the rocket. The drag generated by the rod kept the rocket steady. If you have ever used or seen a bottle rocket, same basic principle.

Re: Standing and idle animations?

what about somebody tries to make an animation of a brutal unit which twists its neck where u can hear something crack? The problem is that every unit that said neck-snapping unit could go up against in a scenario would have to have a neck-snapping animation for it to make sense. Now, what I have t...

Re: Checks and Balances for Server Admins

I've met a good many of the admins on this board, and I can safely say that if you were kicked from the server, you deserved it. Sorry. Not what you wanted to hear. Just talk to the admins, find out why you were kicked, and don't do it again next time.

Should I Continue?

I started drawing this a couple years ago and promptly stopped after about an hour's work. It was supposed to be a piece of concept art for a faction I worked on long ago, and perhaps a unit portrait if I was really happy with it. Do you think it is worthwhile to continue?

Re: iPhone beta test signups!!

Unfortunately, my work expressly disallows me to participate in iPhone development, so I'd best not apply to become a beta tester. You'll all have to let me know how it is! why which corporation do you work for? microsoft? His iPhone is probably a company phone, and the company probably does not wa...

Re: Question about Wesnoth

The main reason is despite having more coders available than your typical open source project, we still don't have the manpower to create patches. It is simply easier and faster to create completely new binaries rather than patches. There used to be a small group that created an updating script that...

Re: Wesnoth: the Arcade Game

My main issue would be that Wesnoth updates rather frequently. Rather than once every two years (although some sports games are yearly), it would be once every 6-8 months (if you don't count the 5-6 patches of the stable version). Since the Beagle Board has an Ethernet port for wired Ethernet, or c...

Wesnoth: the Arcade Game

So, I was surfing the web, looking for things I could use in my hobby (electronics, computers, robotics, etc.) when I found this . For those of you wondering what that is, allow me to explain. Embedded computing is the idea of using a purpose-built, oftentimes low power, computer to perform one or t...
