it still survives 13 hits and because of its second ability:
striking back the enemy with his maxdmg^2 everytime he hits
it may has some chance to win a battle or 2

About the actual idea: The reason it wont work is because everybody is choosing ridiculously high damage, hp, defense and resistance. If everybody would be a balanced level one unit, maybe with advancements, this idea would actually have some potential. Ok .. so my unit has only 13HP and about 30% ...

usually there is at least 1 or 2 points in the defence line where a guardsman is on bad terrain. and there one can get him with thunderes since it is no problemn if you place you own thunderes on bad terrain cause the guardsman cant hurt you that much.

And elves? Well, there is a reason they are considered a defensive faction, they are just not made to break into an enemy front :) . Mage negates the terrain bonus. P.S. On playing defensive, I think you indeed have a advantage as long as you defend sucessfuly. The onus of the game weight heavily on the attacker. A attacker goes far from his home and attack a fortified enemy while on bad ground on enemy territory. But what happens when both players play defenc...
