I tend to saveload if I get punished for a horrible careless error (then place units differently, not just re-roll the dice). The problem is sometimes I'll make such an error and not get punished so in essence I'm freerolling, which doesn't feel right.

There's a unix program called wget that does it, and there's a version of that available for cygwin (non-technically speaking, a unix emulator) if you use windows. If your CPU has more than one core you have to set wesnoth.exe to work on only one of them. If you don't do that the game WILL crash as it immensly screws multithreading and exception handling. Is this true of all wesnoth or only the posted trunk build? I've been getting crashes when loading an aut...

I'm new to the game, and I do find it odd that in one place you see chance to dodge and in another chance to hit, when each is (1 - other). I imagine you get used to it pretty quickly, and reading is good.

The only thing odder would be displaying the opponent's chances as chance for you to dodge :).

After doing some searches I found out that I should uninstall before updating (Windows, "unstable"). Not what I wanted, but OK. I guess for each version I'll have to decide whether to finish campaign before updating, or restart. I had just restarted HttH anyway, so no big deal and the crashes of 1.1...
