Re: The Hammer of Thursagan portrait repaints(update4)
So you mean that no one told you early enough that someone was working on the portraits and also that you don't check the forums on your own? Basically, yeah, that's it. I didn't know "DUHH" existed until I stumbled over this thread. thespaceinvader claims he tried to inform me, but I tho...

Re: Delfador's Memoirs (about to go mainline)
A further information interesting for a willing artist would also be the amount of text/lines/scenes those charcters have (aka is it really worth investing hours of drawing in four different oracles when they only appear in one scenario speking two lines maximum and the like). I will edit to indica...

Re: The Hammer of Thursagan portrait repaints(update4)
either the author invests some time before the portrait artists starts to work and writes extensive character descriptions including age, outward appearance, important items, wheapons and every other characteristic or he has to live with whatever the artist comes up How do I do what you recommend i...

Delfador's Memoirs portraits
Delfador's Memoirs has been mainlined; announcement is https://mail.gna.org/public/wesnoth-dev/2009-04/msg00015.html here. The announcement mentions that we have some gaps in the art for the campaign. Most of the art has already been done, with her usual impeccable quality and taste, by Kitty; but s...

Re: The Hammer of Thursagan portrait repaints(update4)
Author of THoT checking in here. My first reaction to the attempt at the new Perrin portrait was "Wow. Gorgeous, overall, but the shadows on his face are really obtrusive!" After staring at it for a while, and imagining what it would be like with that fixed, I still like the overall compos...

Re: Forum for writers and storyline?
I'm interested in writing for some small campaigns, eventually working my way up to bigger ones, but I have no idea where to go, or if having a "writer" for one's campaign is even a normal thing around here. I am also not sure if there is a glut of writers on Wesnoth already. Howdy, I'm t...

Re: The Hammer of Thursagan portrait repaints(update4)
You asked if the Northern Alliance has a symbol. It does now, I just invented it. Two gauntleted hands clasping, but fingers pointing up rather than down - like the way you start an arm wrestle. Pose like http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://i.pbase.com/u16/stfchallenge/upload/13086749.DSC0...

Re: New campaign: The Hammer of Thursagan
This is good feedback. A few observations from the designer: So... Small thing: How did the dwarves we just fought get through the forest? :? They didn't. They went around the elves rather than through -- crossed the mountains before the passes closed. I actually though this one out, though it's nev...

Re: kitty's elvish portraits
Very nice, except that I don't like that she's blindfolded. Gives it a look that's creepy and inhuman in what I think is the wrong way for an elf. I didn't like that effect in the Sister Theta portrait either, actually. [Update: I'm told this was Jetryl's request, not a Kitty feature. I'm sure he's ...

Re: Invasion from the Unknown (1.10.5) for Wesnoth 1.5-1.6
Are there any plans on making IftU mainline, and if so, on what approximate timeline? I'm answering because I pushed our last seven additions into mainline. (Not a trivial job -- it can involve not just playtesting but prose and story editing, too.) It's a possibility at this point, but a rather di...

Re: GPL art issue
Treat photos exactly as you would treat art submissions. All that's required is to have copy in-tree under GPL and an artist/photographer who doesn't want to sue you.

Kitty, those look good except for the Arthian portrait. It's too dark. What happened there?

I have commit access, and I like it. But this sort of thing needs to go through an art wizard.

Re: wmllint and REALLY old maps(~0.8)
Yes, I did. For a reason: under weird circumstances the 1.2 logic could cause problems with wmllint's checking of terrain strings. Upconvert to 1.3 with the wmllint in 1.4 first.
