Re: Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra -- CC-licensed sample libra

Do you have any idea why SFZ players consume so much memory to the point they are unplayable? I'm using my soundcard's native Creative Asio and still it is unplayable. :( I use Fl Studio to record. I'm not entirely sure I see the connection between memory use and asio drivers. Exactly which SFZ pla...

Re: Source code for Wesnoth music?

Here we go again... I am also an experienced (albeit inactive) composer and I consider this statement utterly absurd. The reason you're finding this absurd is that you lack proper insight into the process, and thus your opinion is largely irrelevant. Correct me if I'm wrong. But even a raw MIDI file...

Re: Community collab! Post *any* musical ideas here!

West: Is the "certain amount of ideas" by coincidence 50? That would mean - only 10 to go :hmm: I didn't have a specific number in mind. I've just had my hands full for several months now, sorry about that. I pop in every now and then to see what's going on with this thread. It'll be a little while...

Re: Community collab! Post *any* musical ideas here!

Listening to the stuff posted so far I can say we already have a bunch of candidates that might very well end up in the final piece. Lots of good ideas, even though they're kind of different in terms of style and feel so I'm going to wait a while before attempting to put them together. If there's an...

Re: Community collab! Post *any* musical ideas here!

I'm going to repost my idea from the other thread with more elaboration... Again, this is not the type of musical ideas that I'm asking for. Maybe I wasn't clear enough :) I'm looking for recorded sound clips of musical ideas . You want a Drake theme, great! Then here's your chance to participate i...

Re: Community collab! Post *any* musical ideas here!

I'ne always wanted to hear an Orcish battle song, with low ominous horns and Big deep drums like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&list=TLYH-W-NYzjKjCAAUaZG1VmyJIylSh9yWA&v=WNBBMXmnEqk#t=64 (from Kodo's official channel) Something a bit primal and driving. Noted. Perhaps I...

Re: Community collab! Post *any* musical ideas here!

Wow! Is it Christmas already? *starts downloading MuseScore* That's the spirit! I might also add that if there's any UMC composers who would like to submit parts of their existing pieces, that's fine too. Though I can't promise that I will use an entire arrangement, it all depends on how all the di...

Community collab! Post *any* musical ideas here!

Let's try something new. Something different. Something that might help breathe some life into this sadly inactive part of the forum. It might even be a lot of fun (gasp!). I would like to invite all members of the Wesnoth community to post any musical ideas you might have here in this thread. Then,...

Re: Missing good intense music?

Hear! Hear! It seems like I never hear it, unless I specifically select it. Is there any chance of getting "Over the Northern Mountains" used more often, especially in multiplayer? Glad to hear it, though this probably means most campaign creators think it's unfitting ;) Anyway, I have a deadline i...

Re: Missing good intense music?

Yes it is true, the piano is the only nice sample on my keyboard. :( I would like to use a DAW, do you know of any good software? How expensive is it? I don't have much money. I have searched for something like that in the past but I didn't know they were called Digital Audio Workstations so I prob...

Re: Missing good intense music?

Problem is my brass/wind sounds are pretty bad on my keyboard. And the strings aren't? ;) I hate to break it to you, but this kind of sample quality will simply not do if you're aiming to get a track in mainline Wesnoth. There is no hardware in existance that will provide the quality we're looking ...

Re: Elven Dance

Yes, it's a very simple, short piece. I see I won't get away with that :D I'm to work on it when I have some time, and expand it. Did you use Miroslav for this? If so, and if you're not opposed to the thought of doing some collab thing, I wouldn't mind having a go at creating an expanded arrangemen...
