My design for a ninja would be a unit which is always invisible, with say 6-2 blade. Thus, you can have them lurking near the battle, ready to strike from the shadows as soon as the opportunity presents itself. Level 2 might get poison or somethng. Very ninja-esque.

No, it's just a rather dark grey (%10-%15 maybe?). It could be lighter if it looks wrong.

Redid the Prophet's skirt; it was ugly. Also, megane hearts team color.

BTW, in gamma 5 the Lorekeeper's standing frame is still gatekeeper.png, and the Herald goes back to looking like a Weaver.

I think this is what they mean about the black borders; your outlines are sort of like the one on the left, while most Wesnoth sprites have outlines like the right. So. Having returned, I've started artificating the Windsong again. Not to discourage Henkutsu -- my thanks for taking up my faction in my absence -- but you know how it is. I've got kind of an idea how I want them to look and so on.
