Return of the Legions (RotL)

I've just put my hands on Return of the Legions - a very nice campaign originally made by zookeeper (see also here ) So far the first five scenarios of the first chapter (eight scenarios) have been ported to the development branch. The campaign is now available from the add-on server. However in ord...

Well, that's not the first thread I've read concerning the Paladin arcane (formerly holy) attack. However, reading the last posts an idea came to my mind that might eventually be more satisfying for most Wesnothians - some kind of compromise (please note: I'm perfectly fine with the way as it is now...

Very true - especially on the multiplayer map Weldyn Channel (also known as Blitz).

Solaris strategy (he knows what he fears most): "In order to win against drakes you have to outnumber them. You won't be able to do so when relying heavily on archers. Sure - they have a very good ranged attack and very good defense in forests but they are just incredibly weak regarding hp and as ex...

There has also to be considered whether the attacking unit is already poisoned or not. (To poison a already poisoned unit is somewhat meaningless.)

Seems like Sombra played to much Knalgans ;). Honestly, I don't think dwarves and outlaws are boring to play or that they are to weak - they are definitely not. They are quite different compared to other factions and thus need to be played differently - true. However, that's a nice thing in my opini...

I actually like having the very same unit (not only according the stats) in different factions. If it was for me I would even mix them more, e.g. include the thief in the loyelists faction as well. I think having identical units in different factions, adds an interesiting aspect to the game, althoug...

Might be a similar bug like this on . I'll have a look at it tonight and fix it in case - presuming noone else does so before. P.S.: Installing a newer version over an older one is not a good idea and will most likely, though not neccessarily, result in bugs. Update: Fixed by zookeeper and commited ...

The defender needs to place his first O in a corner. No, tic tac toe between two people who know what they are doing is impossible to win. Correct. That's also why I gave two alternative definitions for strategic freedom. They don't mean neccessarily the same. An example would be BfW multiplayer ga...

Strategic Freedom

Is there a possibility to measure the strategic freedom of a game? In order to answer this question one needs to know what I mean by "strategic freedom". I defined it for myself in the following way*: Strategic freedom is the number of different potentially successful strategies in order to win a ga...

Assuming the following - that the number of downloads equals the number of users - the number of users hasn't changed over time - the number of user using an operating system other than windows, osx or linux can be neglected we would come to the ...
