Anecdotes Forum.

Have a separate forum where players can tell their stories etc. without cluttering the main ones to the potential irritation of others and the risk of criticism for doing so. The Users Forum would still be there for less campaign/scenario-centric discussion. People would be allowed to start new thre...

Same turn (11) after a little more caution. Losses so far - 1 knight, 1 horseman.

Reloading made all the difference, as the orcs attacked the left flank at dusk.
My attempt to profit from it was over-ambitious.

Here is Konrad with his entire army at the start of turn 11.
Konrad has 1 HP.

The Seige of Elensefar - Resurrected & Not A New Thread

Here's a variation of my usual opening at the start of First Watch (turn 5). The banner has not been raised; the horseman was already there. Normally, the knight would be there instead of acting as a buffer, but I was experimenting with leading with horsemen, and the agreement with the thieves preve...

In my current playthrough I have 3 knights, 2 captains, and one each of hero, ranger, druid, white mage, and Commander Konrad (nearly Lord). Gandledorf says "don't be timid", but I think that it may be necessary to be even more aggresive than he suggests. I certainly feel uneasy about that village. ...

Misc. comments

I'm a new player. Following are comments from my experience so far. SCENARIO ONE: The Elves Besieged. Do not move into the open, and definitely do not move into the hills - you will be slaughtered, since you close battle after Dusk. In Wesnoth, both terrain and time of day are vital. When fighting O...

Seen it, thanks.

Thing is, I can't infer anything about gameplay from it for exactly the same reason that I can't answer my own question.

The changes look interesting, but I'm nowhere near familiar with what they apply to.

Query: Potential game outcomes in 1.0 vs 1.1

I've fallen into the trap of comparing my results with those published by others for HttT. So now I'm always dissatisfied at the end of the scenarios, whatever strategy I attempt. It occurred to me that there might be significant differences between the versions in this respect and was hoping to get...

Other comments.

[Separate because connected to discussion] EP: if the computer (for whatever reason) doesn't choose by default the attack you wish to use, is it really so hard to click the one you do want? You're starting at the wrong point. If I have already brought up the attack dialog, and see which attack it ha...

Highest chance to kill, is it? Well, now I have a vague idea of what's going on. As an inexperienced player trying to get a feel for combat variables, I have usually reacted to the attack dialogue with - "Eh?" - check all calculations - refer to the in-game manual for two or three details - still no...
