Maybe the amount of gold carryover can be adjusted based on the campaign challenge level. For example to ensure that Hard (a level the player chose, after all) is actually challenging to play, you could set all scenarios starting gold to minimum. Alternatively, improve the enemies commensurate with ...

thats strange... i think when i played it on Normal in 1.2.4, the orcs advanced and eventually attacked me in the camp. maybe i shouldnt have grabbed those villages on land or sea.
the gold from waiting the turns is really needed in the next levels

The Liberty campaign is listed as mainline in the docs and is distributed with version 1.3.8. I've played it through and it works well, but noticed a couple of minor glitches: - the saurian leader not recruiting problem still seems to be there - Baldras and Harper don't have the leadership trait in ...

it is quite ingenious how the campaign goes through mostly the same sequence of scenarios no matter which choices you make. it would be nice if there was a way in one of the later scenarios to repay the dwarves for their help in The Escape Tunnel. Xenophobia does not seem to have any ties to events ...

Re: Scenario Review - EI: The Escape Tunnel

normal 1.2.4 1.3.8 5 8 it was cool to meet the dwarves and a relief to get their help in 1.2.4 i usually ended up staying near the entrance and killing off the pursuit and then going east when the trolls were beaten up by the dwarves in 1.3.8 it was trivial to grab the amulet, harass the trolls a b...

1.3.8 normal 6 but 10 if i wanted to escape with any decent units at first i went straight southwest with Gweddry and ran right into the troll warrior encampment. then i realized we were supposed to find another way to the southwest corner. wasnt sure if it is worth using the imprisoned soldiers - ...

I always did this scenario by recalling two knights and recruiting about 8 horseman, and storming the island on turn 3 before the orcs get far. They take out the leader and heavy fighters that turn. Then i bring in archers and thieves to finish off the stragglers during the night. Konrad, in the kee...

The final scenario is probably the toughest in terms of raw difficulty, however the gold and recallable units I had available made it more straightforward. Also the fact that you do not need to worry about casualties or gold means you can throw everything you have at it without repercussions. I not...

Submerge and Ambush seem to be the same ability, on different terrains. In the interest of simplicity, why not drop Submerge, and add an advancement option to each terrain-specialized race for an Ambush capable unit on the appropriate terrain? - elf, forest, ranger - merman, deepwater, spearman - dw...

re: horsemen as assassins

i've tried with regular horsemen, knights, paladins, lancers, grand knights. none of them no matter what time of day seem to have good luck hitting an enemy leader sitting in their keep. nothing i hate more than three massive attacks all failing and them sitting there waiting to be slaughtered next ...
