Re: Common Sense Compendium: Now with more General Advice

Another tactic that has helped me quite a bit is the use of fodder. It all depends on your income and current situation, but if you can afford it, fodder can control the flow of battle. Using weak troops to ZOC the enemy while your main force swings around the rear and attacks is a tactic that can ...

You can make zombie mermen with walking corpses too, not just in Dead Water. :eng:

Re: Wolf Unit Advancements

well wolves are normally pack animals so i would expect there to be a leadership trait in their advancement line. however those wolves who become ridden should have lower movement and attack stats due to the extra weight and suppressed instinctive reactions, while those with riders should gain diffe...

Re: Roar of the Woses

i thought it was supposed to be invisible but was wondering at the lack of explanation :)
i used it a few times but the sacrifice ability seems too risky for what it gains.

Re: Rise of the Elementalist campaign

i played on normal i think. once the air elemental sat down in the village, i could leave it there to heal and level up as the dwarves attacked it. i used this trick for any level 0 whirlwind that got injured actually, until breaking through the fortification. As for why I didn't break it up, is tha...

Re: Swamplings Art Thread - comments greatly appreciated

if saurians are anything like dinosaurs and scaly skinned reptiles they grow their own armour plates so they might not need to wear much metal or other surface stuff. maybe the younglings have softer better camouflaged skin instead of proudly displayed markings. are they like snakes which shed skins...

Re: Looking for unit stats for monk type unit-Suggestion wel

afaik the essence of monk is asceticism (giving up worldly goods) and meditational practice of some discipline, though it need not be religious. thus you have monks who make liquor or write scrolls or do research or advance martial arts or teach or simply meditate. they usually separate themselves f...

Re: Comment on Eleazar's Terrain Improvements or other threa

Wouldnt there be a castle corner/tower tile where there is a turn in a stone bridge? Also, a wooden floor should never need transitions to water or grass since they shouldnt occur outside, unless its some sort of flooding scenario. or ruins which might need rotting wood or broken/overgrown sections,...

arent the swamplings scavengers and ex-slaves? they could have all sorts of weapons and cast off clothing combos. i wouldnt be surprised if other races use swamps as garbage dumps / landfills.

Re: Scenario Review: SotBE 16 - Coward

had no problems killing one of the starting leaders and the second one a few turns later, and it was tense for a while with all the assassins poisoning everyone. i probably wasted more veteran units than necessary. overall still too easy on the easy setting though, i finished in half the turns.
