One key to beating the scenario is to recruit 2 footpads in the northwest corner of your starting castle on the first turn, and send them toward the Archmage as fast as possible. You will find that you can get one of them to a postion to be able to reach the mage before the trolls block the passage ...

Its an interesting question. I regard Protection as a sort of defensive Leadership, so if it scaled with the difference in levels I could hardly object. On the other hand, should the presence of a level 4 Flagebearer, whatever it ends up being called, give all adjacent Aragwaith 50% resistance to ev...

I believe that means you are using the 1.2 version of EE with 1.3. For use with 1.3 you want the version beginning with x - I believe x.30.0 is the most recent.

Time for a small round of balancing suggestions: It seems to me that the Aragwaithi Protection ability should be changed so that, like leadership, it only affects units of lower level. Watching a Guard take only 5 damage from the blows of a Deathblade at night convinced me of this. As was pointed ou...

If you instal an era, for instance, the units will be in userdata/data/campaigns/eraname/units if the era's maker did things in the usual way...

This is what we call an unhelpful post. You might try justifying your opinion in some way, or offering a constructive suggestion. Did you even note that the proposed unit was level 2?

You might want to post questions like this in the Extended Era thread in Faction & Era Contributions. That being said, I do regard the Outlaws as somewhat underpowered. But your suggestion to give the Footpad the skirmisher ability is not likely to be adopted, since EE doesn't change mainline units,...

Deprecated WML messages makes it sound to me like you are playing the 1.2 version of the campaign under 1.3. So far there has been mostly caves and mountains yes, and I aggree dwarves come in very handy for the rest of the game, but I found that if I leveled up a couple of Royal Guards/Halberdiers t...

To uninstall an era, go into Wesnoth/Userdata/Data/Campaigns (for a windows system), and delete the era's folder and .cfg file.

hagabaka's advice was indeed good, but his spoilers were better ;) It turned out that I needed 5 things that I didn't have. I tend to play without reloads wherever possible, so when I was able to complete The Pursuit on my first try, I just moved on. However, I'd lost both the Drake and the Wraith, ...

I've just given Settling Disputes another go, and have concluded that it really is impossible to win. With only enough gold for 5 recalls, getting to an enemy who is recruiting 4 or 5 level 2 troops per turn just isn't going to happen.

I play a lot of Extended Era MP games without any OOS problems. The only advice I can offer is to make sure everyone in the game is using the same version of the Era. When I've had problems in the past, its been because someone had an out-of-date version of the Era.

I've been playing Northern Rebirth for the first time, and enjoying it a lot. It has a lot of nifty ideas, is generally well-written (fairly numerous typos excepted), and fun to play, if somewhat exhausting, since most of the scenarios are so large. I found The Pursuit to be especially enjoyable. It...
