mmm, the sprite of yourself looks rather good, IMO, although the "fists" look a little awkward in that he seems to be bending them back.

Nah, its not that bad.

If you removed the 60 percent air defense and switched it to the normal 40, it would be pretty balanced, IMO

Also, i dont think the horsehair whip would slow; any confusion by the movement wouldnt do enough to be substantial.

What is he doing during the last frame?
if that is supposed to be taking the blow, it seems a little awkward.

I would add another frame between 1 and 2 to make the block more fluid.

Looks good though.

More detail shading, like making the weapons and armor more detailed, especially the guardsman.

The shield expands and turns semi-transparent... are you saying that's not caused by magic?
whatever. It looked like a (badly done, IMO) shield bash animation to me. Maybe it IS intended to be magic.

Well i think the dark mage and the troll whelp are about the same quality, meaning your good at pencil and not-so-good at colored pencil/crayon/weird shop ability/whatever you colored with.

I tend to be the same way, im not too good with coloring, only with pencil.
