Re: Wesnoth 1.7.2

The first link gives me a “400 Bad Request”: 400 Bad Request The server could not comply with the request since it is either malformed or otherwise incorrect. filename: Missing value p. s. The released tarball isn’t a “release tarball”, it has the attic/ directory for instance and I had to run ./aut...

Re: Wesnoth 1.7.2

Congratulations and many thanks! Some small typos: · Forum link in the news message goes to 1.7. 1 forum thread · Post above says this is the second release Edit: Sourceforge seems to have changed the download links... E. g. from: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/wesnoth/wesnoth-1.7.2.tar....

Well, at least I play Wesnoth with most animations turned off (as I’m using a tired laptop), so a neutral flag pose would in fact look less strange. ;)

(What is QFT by the way?)

Re: Changing the -

1. Named HTML entities such as …, – et al? Pros: Easier to see from the entity what you'll get. Cons: Not every code we might conceivably want has a named HTML entity, although almost all do. 2. Numbered HTML entities such as ”? Pros: Consistent display style, complete unicode co...

Re: Forum Discussion thread

Perhaps merging all separate campaign indices into one sticky index? It might be easier to find the correct thread then, it would also mean less clutter among the stickies themselves.

Re: Test of Swedish logo

Thanks for all your comments. :) Caslav, I’ve read that thread (I’m a long time lurker, both of forums and the wiki’s recent changes ), and am aware of the volatile status of translatable images. I get a feeling this will be possible at some point in time, though. The above attempt was merely ...

Test of Swedish logo

Noticing caslav.ilic’ ImageLocalization article, I decided to try out more advanced stuff in the Gimp than I ever have before. ;) logo-sv.png I’m aware that Sgt. Groovy is in progress of vectorizing the logo and that there are artifacts in the image (from removing the original text, already in Chuss...

Re: Splitting translations?

I agree that the context is important, but to me it’s secondary as it is much easier to look up the context in the source files if needed (most of the time it’s enough to look at the neighbouring strings). Though, it would be handy if Poedit could do this automatically on demand. EDIT: Seems this mi...

Splitting translations?

Consider this string: In appearance, orcs are half men and half beasts. They are taller, sturdier and stronger than humans. They are warlike, savage, and cruel by nature. Their blood is darker and thicker than that of normal humans and they have little care for personal hygiene or their personal app...

Re: Wesnoth 1.4.7

Maybe this thread can be destickified as well?

1.4 has served its purpose, and while it may live on for some time, it’s now time to turn our eyes to the lovely bright future of 1.6 (and 1.7). Happy gameplay and development!

EDIT: Thank you! :D (And I meant: de-announce...)

Re: Wesnoth 1.6 Release Notes

This one seems gone forever. Or does anyone have a copy? Perhaps the localization files are saved somewhere. http://www.wesnoth.org/start/1.4/ The Wayback Machine often mentions that material younger than six months (give or take a few months) will not be available directly. Found this: Why are the...

Nice with additional Wesnoth fauna! :)

As I was curious about the animation.... An APNG animation of the Gorer (will not work in all browsers).

Re: Funny things you did as a beginner

Hm... I think it took me about three or four years before I began to even glimpse at the resistance numbers. :? Well, in the beginning I never won any campaign, neither the tutorial. I think it took me a year or so before I beat that one (granted, I play very seldom). :lol2: I recognize most of the ...

Re: Microorganisms Era

:lol2: I like this idea very much! Especially with some nice looking art. I guess you’d be able to come up with some interesting abilities. ;)

Since the scale between microorganisms and, say, dwarfs are so great I have no trouble at all seeing the unit graphics as mere representations.
