I also noticed a handful of mixed usages which really should be avoided, such as "The village supports one unit, and pays one gold per turn: you're only losing 1 gold per turn now." Yes, in a case like that it ought to at least be made consistent, and in that sort of situation using the words makes...

Eh? IMHO "hit points" and "multi-player" sound more weird than the alternative. I don't think I've ever seen a game that wrote "multi-player" instead of "multiplayer". "hit points" isn't as bad but it does sound, well, old for lack of a better adjective. Like how someone would write it back when vid...

Define what you mean by "uncopyrighted", if there's no notice, that doesn't necessarily mean you can use it.

Agree, it makes more sense to have "Victory" only stand for the conditions that are required to win.

My page of the graphics library has a few African/Aborigine inspired frankensteins. I don't have any great urge to work more on them at the moment, but you're welcome to do with them as you see fit under GPL, if they suit your purposes.

Making custom races is very much possible, check out stuff like Extended Era, Imperial Era or Era of Myths on the add-on server, as they all add new factions ("races") to play as. As for the Dungeon Master bit, I would say this is possible as well, depending on what exactly you want to accomplish. P...

The ironic thing is that there used to be a yellow team color that was changed because it was deemed too hard to distinguish from other colors.

To the best of my knowledge, .JPG is best for photographs or other images that use a wide range of colors, and that cell-shaded cartoon images which use few colors, like most of Wesnoth's portraits are, are one of the worst kinds of image to try to save as a .JPG. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The Mauler looks okay to me... maybe not as masculine as you want him, but more androgynous than female if anything. I think the problem with the Crusher may be that the hips are too wide compared to the shoulders, but I'm going out on a limb a bit there. The general rule as I recall is that to look...

Looks like I'm the first one to post results for this step? And here I was feeling like I was procrastinating it. I admit I was a little sceptical about the dodge/burn method but I'm impressed at how well it seems to have come out. There are probably a few areas that are messy in this version,...

Question about game media and GPL.

Right, so as they say GPL was never meant for other than computer programming, but since it is done, here's a question. If a data file for a game is in a format different from the format the artist worked on it in, and has lost some data useful to the creation proecess in conversion, is that equival...

Yeah, I remember it as "Warg" too. "Worg" is probably a deliberate misspelling to avoid the appearance of copyright infringement, or something.

metal should be of a traditional metal color unless theres some really important reason for being otherwise and its an exception Actually I'd be interested to hear from the art masters here where the "metal is blue/cyan" conception comes from anyways. I'm guessing it's due to reflecting the color o...
