But life isn't fair either. this is probably the most annoying defense of FFA... it is riidiculous. In real life, people are aligned with each other. Having enemies is an abnormal situation. Also, in real life the objective[3] is different. You're trying to help as many people as possible, rather t...

Just "trashing" the add-on files doesn't work properly on my 1.2.2. I tested a campaign, deleted the campaign files out of my .wesnoth directory, restarted Wesnoth and still have an entry of that deleted campaign in my campaigns menu. So how to get rid of this entry? /edit: Alright, got it. After de...

Hmm, maybe you're right... didn't realize that when I started the topic.
Will think twice next time where to post... for this time it's too late... ;)

Thanks @soliton: That will help me a lot... Worked all fine, the game is running and looks awesome ;) Finally all I needed was just the information about the installation of the build-esentials... for my first compilin ever I think this was quite not so hard as I thought. To prevent those of you whi...

Thanks... installed the standard Ubuntu-g++-package and ./configure worked absolutely fine...

But now comes problem number 3:

If I type "make", it only says:

Code: Select all

bash: make: command not found
So which pakets do I need either?

Compiling 1.1.5 on Ubuntu 5.10

Hey guys... this is my first self-compiling ever, so please give me a chance: Followed the instructions on http://www.wesnoth.org/wiki/CompilingWesnoth for compiling. All packages that I should install due to this page are installed. (Were all in the sources except libsdl1.2 which is replaced in Ubu...

I found the binary-file "wesnoth_editor" in "/usr/games", where also the binary "wesnoth" is placed. Actually, I'm able to start the editor from the file-manager by clicking on it. Fine. But still the questions: a) Why is there no button in the game menu, to start the editor? b) Why am I not able to...

Thx for the answer, but I'm installing Wesnoth over the "Synaptic" package manager, which should have done configure for me. I have no source. Just the packages "wesnoth", "wesnoth-data" and "wesnoth-editor", which are all correctly installed. Do I really have to compile the game by myself to make t...

In Ubuntu just uninstall the packages with Synaptic. Note that you have to uninstall more packages than only the "wesnoth" one. At least there is another package that's called "wesnoth-data". Best would be, to search any "wesnoth-???" package and uninstall it. As I said: This is only an instruction ...

How do I start the Map Editor?

Hello everybody, before all: Yes, I think I know how to start a program under Linux ;) Especially under Ubuntu 5.10 which I'm using at the very moment. Okay, whats my problem? I want to start the map editor, but in the main menu of the game, there is no button for this (btw: why not?). Fine, let's t...

Hello out there... the installation paths for Wesnoth under Ubuntu are a little bit different from those under Debian. /usr/share/games/wesnoth contains the fonts, the music and some additional .zip-Files including the coredata (important for all those who want to edit their units etc.). /usr/share/...
