Re: [engine]request resync on oos option
I find that when there's an OOS trying to resync from replay doesn't work (so quit/rejoin is useless) but the state load by load game tends to resync after OOS.

Re: 1.9.5 swallow water / plain = bad terrain
Well I suppose if one wanted to reduce the work involved enough, there is no particular reason why the alternate terrain would have to have any transitions. Just fit the hexsides and you will have a playable, if a bit ugly, tileset.

Re: Naga Lore
It's the other way around. I remember when TRoW used Sea Orcs.Let me rephrase that to in TRoW this is how they were set up, and it seems to have bled into multiplayer (or the other way around).

Re: Humor Campaign: Talentless Mage (1.8)
I played through Talentless Mage. I stuck around in the rescue the prisoners scenario until I had killed all the enemy leaders, gathering experience. Two royal guards and two mater bowmen were sure nice to have on the map the rest of the campaign. Gave berserk to one of the royal guards. A berserkin...

Story of the Wose may or may not be what you want. It's barely longer than Ooze though.

Globster is somewhat more useful for defending because it doesn't have swarm.

Re: AI using leaders too liberally?
I find Morituri to be much better balanced than Isars, and the leaders easily get as much action (sometimes more), mainly due to incomes being around 5-7 so you can be out for 3-4 turns and not be way behind on recruiting.

Re: [mainline]Giant Scorpion's resistance
Because when you get a lizard the size of a man, cold blooded hardly matters vs. cold terrain. They're probably more exposed to overheating in the day than slowed by cold at night.

In no particular order: * Gryphons are inferior water units but more worth controlling water with * Merfolk are vulnerable to ToD based attacks. Naga are not * The more gryphons you have the more powerful each one is * Pay attention to what condition your opponents are in in FFA games * It is worth ...

Elves don't like iron in Wesnoth right? That would make their swords of an inferior alloy. (Really good iron-free or low-iron alloys are modern inventions).

I beg to differ. Heavy Infantry or Wose is a good sign in some cases. Leader assassinations will be difficult against them.

One of
1) Play a gambit/suicide rush and hope one opponent is also a newb
2) Determined assult/defence. I probably won't take many of his villages because he might be able to rally and if he does he probably won't make the same mistake twice.
3) gg & leave
